I was just thinking how clever the premise of this thread is and what a great way to interpret how a modern phenomenon is seen by vintage enthusiasts.
Very well done!
The poetry thread isn't really right for the Lounge. Sorry.
We're keeping things at least somewhat vintage related.
Thanks for your understanding.
I am sure there are hundreds of poetry forums out on the Lounge.
Well, friends, here's the deal.
The rules as such are what they've always been. For years, the OB went along as a mostly vintage-themed catch-all discussion area.
Around a year ago, much of that went off track. It deteriorated into something more appropriate to a personal blog site or social...
Forgive me guys, but since the crash, we are really trying for a new start and a tight focus on the Golden Age and vintage lifestyle. That is why we all came here after all, and we are looking for a boost in the informative content that keeps this place the #1 Vintage Resource on the Web!
So...
Hey guys, we are really trying to keep the conversations Golden Era related across the Lounge.
Since the crash, we are trying to have a fresh start and realign the Lounge to its original purpose, as a vintage forum. That is what brought us all here after all. We want to keep the content...
Jeans were worn in the Golden Era. Bogart looked cool in his high rises in "To Have & Have Not."
I have seen French and Italian men in jeans that look much dressier than some corresponding men in the street here in the US who are wearing suits. That can be evidenced by posts on The...
I think it is an amazing accomplishment to even be a finalist. I also think it is well deserved. I would not be surprised if you won; in fact, I am counting on it!
Wishing you the very best!
I was in the The Puces de Saint-Ouen in November and there is a wonderful vintage shop there ran by two charismatic and knowledgable people. They have all sorts of vintage clothes going way back to the 19th C. They also produce a small line of retro shoes that are perfect, incredible...
I just watched "Iron Man" on television and I thought it was excellent!
It wasn't the film per se, but Robert Downey Jr who has so much personality. He made the film very enjoyable.
Also, I enjoyed a grizzled Jeff Bridges.
It makes me wish I had seen it on the big screen.
Oh well.
This one...
My favorite retro toy is my shiny red Vespa LX50. It has classic lines and affords me the freedom to go anywhere here in Boston. It has opened up the city for me in a new and exciting way.
Frankly, I think that the fellow on the left looks awkward. He even looks like he feels awkward.
The guy in the middle looks preppy and confident. I think he pulls it off well.
The fellow on the right looks pretty average. Nothing ground breaking there, except perhaps for the designer bag. For...
The iPhone comes with a nice vintage bell ring option. I use it for people I don't know, because it's the generic ring from my youth. I am old enough to remember when all phones had little bells inside.
I DO remember you saying that, and truth be told, I am from Philadelphia! I've been here for over 15 years so I am sure my "r-s" have softened some. :)
