I had an odd dream this morning, where i was at a place I have never seen or heard of before. I dreamt i was in a huge Casino with a gigantic shopping mall that was some how remeniscent of a giant Victorian Train Station. The place was so big it had an actual subway train that circled the premises but more like an elevated train. The place was styled in Art Neuvo with a lot of wrought iron fencining surrounding the subway and outside shopping areas with many gates all the wrought iron fencing (almost like giant grille work) painted a fairly dark green color. Certain areas of congregation the fencing went up and over with wrought iron roofs and each seemed to be shape like a giant bird cage in style! The roof of the casino building in the center was metal grid like framed glass skylights again bringing to mind some old European train station. I rode in the turn of the century styled subway around the place to see it as an observer from a high vantage point. Just as the dream ended I was outside the subway car and in all of the windows were electronic hologram progections of lobby cards of old movies, I recall seeing Flash Gordon card listing Buster Crabbe and one for Rodan.

I think that I had seen a picture of an Art Neuvo sign in iron for the Paris Metro and the dream seems to be some sort of fantastic extrapilation of that.

Anybody else having weird dreams?

I love dreams! Some I've had were prophetic, some were maybe another era and place, and still others nothing that could ever have existed in this dimension of space/time. At least not yet maybe, or that I know of.
I firmly believe that dreams transcend the currently defined boundaries of parallel dimensions in space/time.
Literally, I think all time is now, and is not really linear as we perceive it from our extremely limited perspective. Much remains to be learned about our universe from the study of theoretical physics such as string theory and quantum mechanics.
Sounds like your's was a mixture of past and present? Maybe you were here? :)

Actual places are hard to nail down. Maybe the setting of a dream is not as important as the content, the script?
I had a prophetic dream once that I would meet someone in a sort of cafe or something. I had no idea where really from the dream, just the notion of it's being some sort of cafe.
The next day, I get a call from a friend who was due to move out of a place nearby in a small town, but he was delayed by one day. So I met him at a local sushi bar in the town that we frequented, and I then did in fact meet the girl I dreamed of the night before! Didn't realize it until after the evening was over as I did not "recognize" her at the time from my dream, or the place. I pieced together the details from the dream later,... the cafe setting, and the fact that she was dressed in green scrubs just as in my dream, as she was in the medical field. It was uncanny to say the least.

Two Bobs

I dreamed it was winter and I was supposed to get married at my parents' house. The wedding dress was white and came with a purple petticoat, but my mom washed them together and it turned the dress purple. The guests were there. The office called and asked for a partner who wasn't there.

I didn't know who I was supposed to be getting married to; I couldn't remember anything leading up to a wedding. The only person I could think of was my widowed brother-in-law, Bob. I didn't go through with it.

Awhile back, I dreamed I was looking out the window of my house and saw my brother Bob driving his old orange pickup. He drove from my right to left, then drove away. I could see his face in the rear view mirror. His former business partner was there also. (Bob died last year; a cousin at the funeral told a funny story about the orange pickup.)

In living color

All my dreams are in color too! Many people dream in black and white. Which would be very cool and vintage looking...

I have repeating dreams where I go through a door or up a staircase that I never noticed before, in some place that is true to "real" life, and suddenly I am in a spacious, gorgeous place that no one but me knows is there...

And then there are the vintage shopping dreams, where I find vast stashes of clothes and shoes from the 30s that fit me perfectly and I can have as much as I can carry, and I start to drop them and wake up...:(

I have a few dreams that are about certain people in my life, people that I am not always involved with on a day to day basis. But they always turn out to be true in some way. I almost always track down the person and say hey what does this "mean" to you.
One friend and I have even had the same dream several years apart. He told me about his first then I had to fess up.

Forgive me guys, but since the crash, we are really trying for a new start and a tight focus on the Golden Age and vintage lifestyle. That is why we all came here after all, and we are looking for a boost in the informative content that keeps this place the #1 Vintage Resource on the Web!

So, threads that are more appropriate for blogs and other sites, we are asking that you continue them on your LiveJournal or MySpace pages.

Sorry to cut this one off in the middle. I hope you understand.
