I had a cross-zip from H&M (was around 8-10yrs ago) made out of what seems to me the same leather as @ton312 jacket which I think is cowhide and it was pretty thick if I remember correctly. It was from the premium (in an H&M sort of way) line and it cost close to £150/£200.
The problem I had...
My experience over the last year has been that within Europe is the same as always, Japan to Europe about a week extra with EMS. I had a package come in from the US in early December (USPS) and it was about a week too. So yes some delays but for better or worse nothing significant enough to...
A new jacket taken out of the box and resold it by a private seller loses 30% of its original price. After a few wears it goes down to 40%. That’s my experience. It really sucks but that’s how the market works. Same with boots etc.
The thing is nobody really needs these clothes, they are a...
I was kidding! personally would never spend anywhere near that for such a thing.
No matter what you do, some items are so intrinsically technical/utilitarian that even after 50 years they can’t pass off as civilian clothing that can be worn day to day. This is no a2 or j24. If I did go skiing...
This morning at 7am was -7C and trust me if I had anything like that I would’ve worn it.
Considering the temperature only plummets like that every 5 years or so for a couple of days at most, I could put in 10 wears in 20 years.
Just 500GBP you say...
I might be wrong but the rebranding from Bootleggers to Freewheelers happened in 2009. So the jacket is at least that old.
That of course only tells so much as wear frequency and possibly the kind of wear the jacket is subject to is much more important. And unless it’s been worn on a building...
Ok I think before Bootleggers rebranded themselves as Freewheelers they were making the exact same jacket (under the sub label Neil Cassidy etc) so I was just trying to understand if we were talking about a >10 years old jacket or a more recent one. It sucks in any case of course but a rip after...
I agree it’s not an age thing but rather how you feel when wearing it. If you are in your 20s and very self conscious about what you wear you’d probably pull it off worst than a 60yo that doesn’t have a care in the world.
Wear what makes you feel good. Some people don’t give a damn about...
My BK jacket was definitely shipped out of Greece, of course that alone doesn’t tell where it was actually made but for sure some part of the operation is there.
Sketchy/lack of communication is annoying and nerve-wrecking. I assume that if at the time they agreed to take on the repair job...
Mmm... the Mulholland seems to be a pattern that works for most as it does the Brakeman and a few other of their longer styles. The other jackets I don’t know, I think they can be a though fit. Dude you had to go up a size or two and then have the sleeves altered of several of yours... I’m not...
Clutch prices are higher than most other places taxes or not. I’m never going to buy anything from them again unless there is something I really want and that can’t be found anywhere else.
If what they say is true though, which seems plausible to me, the €2250 price would be inclusive of taxes...
I’m not sure why they want to collect the duties/local VAT up front. I think they want to offer this service so European customers won’t have to deal with customs duties etc but in my eyes one might as well buy from Japan which will end up being cheaper. I think that is what they are afraid. Why...
Just received an email from Clutch where they say the following:
To All Our European Customers
After the UK’s recent departure from the European Union, there has been an unavoidable upheaval in all trade.
To help ease the confusion, we use a shipping partner to assist us with all...
CXL has its own distinctive look. I personally think it’s more of a leather accessory type leather, belts, wallets etc.
There are some beautiful Horween leathers that imho work much better for jackets. Bit of a shame is all about CXL when it comes to Horween but probably the main reason is its...
^Like it too very much. It’s been there for a while now. I think the main reason is that Jerky isn’t popular but it ain’t bad at all. The extreme taper worries me too.
On eBay people take risks because eBay always sides with the buyer. I don’t think you need to involve PayPal at all. Just file for item not as described and eBay will handle the rest.
Anyway, also the proxies do not all work the same way. On zenmarket you deposit money into your profile...
Super tight fit (STF) originally for the Japanese market, pretty sure I’ve read that on some aero ad. I thought it’s not just the sleeves but also the body that gets slimmed down although probably you can have a normal body with tight sleeves and vice versa.
I wish you luck Jon and I hope you get your money back all I’m saying is that one needs to be careful as to not think that when using a proxy is like making a purchase on eBay. As you say though, PayPal will ultimately make their decision.
