My wife loves Renner, but I always just think of him as 'pordgy' faced, no matter how hard he tries to slim down.
Charlize Theron on the other hand, knows how to slim down (Monster V's Prometheus).
Russel Crowe is a shining example to all 'big guys'. He loves to get fat (and fair play to him)...
Umm. I kind of surprised by the reaction to shorts too. Try an Asian summer without them, you'll change your mind.
I think it depends on the style and the whole look. Khaki loose shorts above the knee with a linen shirt is very cool, practical and smart.
I think that a lot depends on your overt...
@navetsea,
Seriously, I just said that I'm not going to talk about it even though I want to.
Did you not follow this thread over the last couple of days?
@navetsea,
That's an interesting comment, and I'd love to discuss it with you, but I just can't. If I do, someone might become hysterical, so I just want to leave this thread.
@Doctor Damage,
Yeah it is a great idea! Whoops, my bad. But I guess I'll give Obama that one for free! LOLZ!
You're right though, that jacket looks 100% better on him than it does in the model on the website!
@handymike,
Yeah, right! When I first saw it, I thought it was branding, like a logo, and then I was like 'oooh!'. I'm such an idiot.
That's an idea; Pres. Obama should start his own fashion brand: 44.
@El Marro, that is a great looking piece of leather, and I think you're right; Shinki is no better than Horween and Vicenza, but it's relative unavailability due to being in Japan, and used in smaller sized Japanese jackets has made it relatively inaccessible and therefore given it an undeserved...
@GHT, you look great!
@Monitor, I think GHT is right that a linen/cotton mix will resist the chronic creasing that is endemic to 100% linen clothing, but you may not find it to be much of an improvement compared to the crease resistance of other fabrics.
I wear linen Hawaiian style shirts here...
Does anyone know the brand of Obama's MA-1 clone? He's a tall slim guy, and 'normal' MA-1s are pretty short, but the length of his looks good.
It got to be a fashion brand, but the BR WG MA-1 is longer/slimmer cut than the real thing too.
@Blackadder,
It's not that you've got to have a six pack, it's just that you've got to be a Japanese guy; thin. By our standards, as thin as a teenage high school male model. Androgynous kinda thin.
That's the Japanese domestic demographic that is the largest.
DWTH just isn't that shape; he's...
Given the brand name cache that Shinki Leather has (undeservedly in my opinion, but whatever) I'm really surprised that they'd sell an unfinished product to a jacket manufacturer and allow the jacket manufacturer to 'finish' the hide themselves, since the possibility that the finish could be...
I agree with patrick_b.
It's not just that no one is ever going to care enough to look at it closely enough to notice, nor is it that the owner of such a detail obsessed jacket is going to pop the first time it gets a scuff, scratch or minor cut, but rather that if the jacket is so 'perfect' it...
Well I'd guess that they were issue items supplied by the US to the RVN as an ally, along with all the other uniform items, weapons and equipment.
How much of that ever got paid for (given the collapse of RVN) is anyone's guess (how much of that never needed paying for as it was illicitly...
@bythesea, that's an issue label, so an issue jacket. Nice.
I went through a phase of reading about Lam Son 719 and the ARVN paratroopers weeklong hand to hand fight with the NVA in the highlands. Contrary to popular opinion about ARVN troops, these guys were pretty tough cookies. When I found...
Hi!
Welcome to TFL. That looks 100% legit to me. Nice score!
I wish I could find one in my size, I got some awesome original ARVN paratrooper patches for it.
I agree with other posters;
Ebay has a system and policy for resolving these issues, so you should use it and have no other communication with the buyer.
The problem is that we use eBay as reasonable people looking to henestly buy or sell something, but there are 'smart' petty criminals out...
