@Doctor Damage, thanks for naming her, I would have never in a million years spotted her as the virtual reality hologram AI (whatever) girlfriend in the Bladerunner sequel.
She looks great here, but my God, what a difference film lighting etc makes.
@Edward, good question!
(Some may find this TLDR, by all means feel free to skip).
I do wear padded sole slipper socks at home in winter because of cold wooden floors. But mine are from the US. Only old people wear anything like this in Japan lol.
Everybody wears nice socks, and anywhere you...
@zebedee, nice.
Have you seen these? I'm really interested in this design style from the Carpathians. Nice and 'outdoorsy', but also has an 'old world' traditional feel;

You're in Asia too right...
@zebedee, yes, but what font is that in? I can't see in the photo on my phone. If the font is wrong, just forget the whole thing, you'll look like a tourist wannabe IMHO.
@zebedee, yes, for me it's a real challenge to find socks that are capable of maintaining both richness of color and texture after repeated washing (in fact, TBH, separating my laundry into various colors, fabrics etc so that things get washed on the correct cycle consumes a disordinate amount...
@zebedee, interesting comment!
All too often socks are overlooked resulting in a look that lets down the high end jacket, hat and jeans they are worn with. Missed opportunity IMHO.
I normally go with a ribbed cotton/wool mix ankle socks for durability and coolness (I haven't been impressed with...
But the Heddels guy must be doing something right, he's getting hundreds of likes, shares, and comments so he must be popular, and there must be plenty out there that value his opinion. He's probably making a little off the page views too. I think that makes it a very successful blog. Well done...
Nah, that first picture is excellent. Could be my display settings, not your picture quality, but the green lining perfectly matches the lining of my BR MA-1s, so I'm happy with the pic colors.
I'm gonna get me one.
@Peter,
Thanks for posting that link.
It's really interesting that the guy rates Costco's own brand Kirkland pretty highly, considering so many loungers have independently made them the 'white T of choice'. I guess a lot of us really do know quality when we see it.
That said, I'm going to give...
@daveoflondon,
Thanks for posting that! It's the only pic that really shows how bright that red is. Every promo shot under professional lighting messes up the color and makes it look duller than it really is.
Did you take that in natural light?
Presumably in the absence of any public updates about the length of the waiting list, orders continue to come in and deposits are still being paid.
Any public notification of 5 years waits and such might put an end to that? It might induce more people on the waiting list to ask for refunds-...
@Benny Holiday, thanks Benny, I appreciate that.
I mean, I'm probably just as bad as anyone else; I got more jackets than I need. And yes, I did work hard and I can spend my money how I like, but at the end of the day I guess I was lucky to be born somewhere where I had that chance. When I...
He doesn't need an assistant, he needs a supervisor.
Still, it's an interesting comment on our luxurious 'life of plenty' times that white collar professionals can use their specific and hard learned skill sets to earn enough money that they can give it all up and do blue collar manual work of...
@Dudleydoright, THIS!
It's interesting that you can say this out loud now without being pilloried for it, a couple of years ago it was heresy to make comments like that.
Everything you say, I agree with. And mainly that last point; right now he can't make what he wants as his passion for jackets...
Yep! I feel like I already bought your damn product, why have you got to force your logo down my theist in my living room? What more damn loyalty do they expect? All appliances with matching logos? WTF!
@Edward, IIRC Hilts never actually wears a white T under his A-2, but yeah, his image has left an indelible air of casualness to the A-2.
There was a phase maybe 8 years ago (?) of everyone in Japan wearing those blue and white horizontal striped t-shirts. And whilst the style is popular with...
@Superfluous, thank you for your answer. It IS good not to have to wear suits to work everyday! Hats off to all white collar professionals successful enough to be able to choose when they wear a suit!
I wear made to measure because of the impossibility of getting an off the peg suit that fits...
@Edward, that's interesting because I've always felt that WWII RAF and Luftwaffe pilots were real 'knights of the air', proper gentlemen, and that their leather flight jackets looked pretty good over dress shirts and ties.
On the other hand, I feel that despite being originally designed to be...
