My daughter just finished making this one for a friend of hers. I'm pretty pleases considering this is only the second hat she's created! I think she may be passing me in abilities in the not too distant future!
Looks good in a photoshhoot. Not sure it would work on streets of "the windy city" or out here in California when the Santa Ana winds kick up. :confused:
I'd be curious to see the entire procedure. Better yet, if it had illustrations to emphasis the technique. That said, I've not attempted that particular method of ribbon installation.
Even though we love our straws, consider that the original design use was a hat with a relatively short lifespan. There are others here with a wider range of experience, mine being limited to Shantung, Bangora, and Palm. That said, the first two aren't really straw, but rather a type of paper...
