Just minutes old! I'm going to cut & paste my info about this one from my Well-Dressed Head FB page:
Although I make caps to sell, I am primarily, at the end of the day, a wearer and devotee of the form for my own head - my daily hair, as it were. So I allow myself the occasional indulgence...
Empirestatecaps: buying off eBay can be hit-or-miss, but as long as you have a good accurate measurement of your head, you should be OK. Use a soft tape-measure or even twine and measure your crown right at the point where you would have the sweatband sitting - above the ears about 1/2" or so...
Barry, a classic in every detail! Excellent.
Triple-d - caps can worm their way into your life, for sure. So many beautiful (and neglected) period styles that just look good on a head!
Hey, in all the activity I completely forgot to say:
Seabass, if I can achieve one third of your cool with the grandchildren I hope to have some day, I'll be laughin'. You all look incredible.
Well, the volume is so massive with RL stuff. But I'm specifically talking about RRL here, which once you get past the denim which is often bogus, the shirts, sweaters, trousers and jackets are pretty much all quite amazing.
But they have no clue about headwear.
For all the fantastic RRL clothing, with real attention to period detail, the RRL vintage-style caps, for lack of a better word, SUCK. It's weird. That one excepted, of course!
Thanks guys – bro cavefish, Jonathan, Barry & Damian make nice eight panel caps that might fit the bill for you! I exclude myself from that category since they're not my strong suit, I'm much more at home at fabricating 8-dart and flat caps.

For the first day this year, autumn feels in the air - woohoo!! Today I'm airing out one of easy vintage caps - even though it's from the 1950's, it's got pleasing proportions and the fabric is, well, fab.
My first thought was 'OH NO, THE BADGE!' Then I scrolled down to see you had the good taste to swap it out. It's a very cool cap, actually - the leather and detailing looks nice!
Hey, nice to see you Dale – nobody does the visor boomerang like you! Looking good.

Just finished making this cap for myself - the first time I've used this amazing fabric for a non-paneled cap.
The Trident cap: 8-dart cap with three inverted pleats and back band. 1930's Art Deco wool crepe, 1950's kimono silks liner, leather band, visor & sweatband, 1920's blued-steel...
Mike! So nice to see your own pea-green boat is sailing!!
Thanks Dale! Are you still wearing caps or are you pretty much a Fedora man full-time now?
I'm hoping we'll get some contributions from GregNYC and perhaps Robert who I haven't seen in a long time… It'll take several to get it up and...
