Parting Men's Hair: Where Should I Part Mine?

also looks a bit like Tom Hardy's in 'Lawless' (but neater):

Parting Men's Hair: Where Should I Part Mine?

GHT, i doubt any of those mentioned in the article are relevant enough for the 16-19 year olds. TT had mentioned a footballer who may have started it all off (can't remember his name, but not Beckham) or maybe a band ? bit like this minus the beard: or a bit longer like this: or this, but...

i think it's probably someone more famous.

Parting Men's Hair: Where Should I Part Mine?

walking down the high street in Brighton yesterday i was shocked to see the number of traditional short-back-and-sides haircuts on the young generation. usually neatly side parted with a small quiff in the 'executive contour' manner. ok, they still wear skinny jeans, but it's strange how popular...

Parting Men's Hair: Where Should I Part Mine?

a centre part ? the centre part was very big in the early 20s, but very few men attempt it today.

    Show us your TIES

esteban68, i've never seen pointed knit / crochet ties in 20s-30s catalogues. that's not to say they didn't exist, just that i haven't seen them. so i would also guess it's modern. either way, it's a nice tie !

Vintage denim hunting in Spitalfields market

Friday was always the day for the best vintage dealers... under the covered area. that's where ebay seller Kompendium used to sell. i think Saturday is more general.

    1920s suits

Fastuni, that illustration is particularly bad. it could almost have been created to put people off the look. but there are also wide shouldered 'bold look' illustrations which are equally as ridiculous but for the opposite reasons. i have no intention of reproducing a jazz suit, as i find...

    1920s suits

1922 Jazz suits. notice the slight convex edge of the lapel (not the front edge, the short edge where it meets the gorge point): not sure what this weave is called but i like it: p.s. i'm digging through old threads for 1920s images. here's Metropd in an original 1926 suit:

    Attention UK members please

yes, no need to worry. the 'chav' about town would never wear an actual Burberry trench coat. in fact, you rarely even see the burberry check caps these days.

Vintage denim hunting in Spitalfields market

sorry, just my silly sense of humour. you might be expecting the market to be larger than it is... it's tiny, and you'll find the denim in no time. London vintage prices are very high. i'm not a denim geek but for example £120 for a French workwear jacket. haggling with the seller is always...

    Reproduction Vintage Neckties?

can't really see the point of buying an RRL tie when an original US 20-30s brocade tie is only $36 (£23) + a small amount of shipping.

    Putting it all together

not sure if this is a round neck fair isle or a v-neck that's a bit loose. the shirt looks quite modern for the 20s: Cecil Beaton, 1920s.
