Tension is a process of trial and error. It very much depends on the type of fabric you're sewing.
Foot-tension has to be LIGHT for light fabrics, but tighter for thicker fabrics (otherwise the needle yanks the fabric up with it as it sews along).
Thread-tension is something you have to play...
LOL!!
P.Planes, I shouldn't worry about it. It's nothing to be worried about, or ashamed of. I would ignore the others. It is their loss that they weren't raised with your sense of decorum and politeness.
Well there you might have a historical precedent for it, then :)
Some people have the ability to grow really thick moustaches, some people can't. Some grow them faster than others. It's either shadows, or a really thin/small, trimmed moustache.
I think the last photo shows a moustache...
I don't think so. If there is, it would be a very thin one.
I know it was common for men during the Victorian era to wear moustaches, purely because the only way you could shave yourself was with a cutthroat, and some guys didn't want to bother with trying to shave that part of their faces...

My latest modest sewing-project can be found in the Attire &...
If I can't get them sharpened, then I'll send them out. But I'm happy with the results. They cut the whole length of the blades, but they are a bit unreliable. So they do cut, but a professional sharpener could probably get them to cut more reliably.
The shears are working pretty well. They're absolutely massive.
11-1/2 inches long, with a cutting-edge of 6-1/2 inches. Solid chromed steel. There's only one mark on them. It says: "BONUM", and it's inside an oval.
There is a place in town that sharpens knives. $5.00 for a small pair of...
Hahahaha!!
My thrift-shop scores for yesterday:
1. Glass dip-pen. $1.00.
2. Tailor's point-shears. Steel. $0.00.
I'm currently trying to sharpen the shears at home. So far, so good. I can get them to cut all the way through a single layer of fabric, but not two or three layers...
