Undertow, are you sure the link is correct? I got a web hosting message when I clicked on the link.

    Made in the USA

Duluth Pack http://duluthpack.com/craftsmanship.aspx The canvas and leather backpack I bought there some four or five years ago has held up well.

I like what they were going for, but I don't think the dress was tailored to her very well. The pink and gray jewelry don't with it, either.

Why do I hate the 1970s so much?

Good. I'm pretty sure you're not "the only one on here"--out of 10,000 members--"concerned with gay rights and culture."

Why do I hate the 1970s so much?

    I enjoyed Star Trek TNG.

Why do I hate the 1970s so much?

Aren't you assuming that effeminate men are gay?

Take away the belled trousers and add make-up and you have the 1700s. :)

Overreacting, much? ;) Real raccoon eyes are what the Olsen twins wear. http://shoeblogs.com/2005/11/14/racoony/ Blue eye shadow is a notoriously...blue collar look, for lack of a better term. Brown shadow (and a different hairdo) would have looked more sophisticated.

Marisa Tomei's dress might have looked better in another color. I love the lines, but the color looked like bleach out 80s dusty rose. And it isn't a good color for her hair and skin. Maybe it's my monitor, but I don't see anything racoonish about Reese Witherspoon's eyes. The dress...the...

    At a store near you!

Edith Piaf January 24, 2009: I bought Edith Piaf's Greatest Hits as an MP3 download for $4.99. That's 36 songs for $.14 each. It's listed as $7.99, but they knocked $3 off the price. (For non-techies, you can download the songs to your hard drive if you have a fast enough connection--you...

What, you don't like grunge and Celine Dion? There was Seinfeld, and that was about it.

    Elegance and vintage

More gravitas. While watching The Untouchables today, it struck me that the federal agents wouldn't seem nearly as serious in modern hipster clothes.

    50's Housewife for a year?

First, let's see what such a lifestyle might be like: Living for a year in the 30s... Housework: Didn't a lot of middle class women have maids? Can I have one, too? Food--supermarkets are about the only place around here to buy food. Home-grown is great, but I can't keep chickens here and...

    Setting Lotion

Setting Lotion on Dry Hair? Has anyone ever tried using Lottabody with a curling iron or hot roller set? BTW, I just used Lottabody on my mom's hair. It looked good and her hair felt soft--not sticky or stiff at all. :)

1930s Cookbook Recipe Portion Sizes were Smaller

 Those literally wouldn't fit in my cupboard, which is 11" deep. At home, I usually use my luncheon plates (8" across); at work, my meals fit in a cereal bowl or on a saucer. The only time I use dinner plates is to eat a salad with dinner. Back to the topic...I have Emily Post's...

1930s Cookbook Recipe Portion Sizes were Smaller

One of my coworkers had high cholesterol. She's quite thin. She said that just by eating a bowl of oatmeal every morning, it lowered her cholesterol so much that she doesn't have to take medicine. My mom is overweight and her cholesterol is fine; I think she is partly of French ancestry. But she...

Friesling? Burgerdy? I'll stop now. I'm sure there are other factors, but I suspect the French are just like the rest of us: if they eat bigger portions of unhealthy foods, they'll get fat. If they eat smaller portions of healthy foods, they'll be more fit.
