Any "new" old radios out there in Fedoraville?

Just yesterday, I got this very nice RCA Victor tabletop tube radio from roughly 1947. It has been refurbished and polished and looks great. The sound is very clear too. With two nice vintage radio sets now, I really need to get an AMT transmitter for my Big Band, Jazz and Radio Shows.

L.A. crime news from long ago

It's probably my criminologists' roots, but I find looking at old newspapers of crime from earlier days really fun. Thanks for posting that.

    IRON MAN

I saw it last week. I must say I've hardly been one for movies based on comic books. (I've seen maybe two of the Batman movies, and non of the Spider Man Movies) but I must say that Iron Man was quite enjoyable. I always enjoy watching Downey Jr. in movies; his acting skills are quite unique...

    10 overrated classics

That is true; and one of the ideas that came to my mind after my last post. I can only imagine how enjoyable watching her at that time probably was to many individuals at the time looking for an escape from the harsh realities of everyday life at the time.

    Radio Actor/Actress Performances

Like a few others here, I too cast a vote for Agnes Moorehead in "Sorry, Wrong Number". I agree that part of the reason her performance was so great is due to the fact that her character was somewhat annoyed, more than likely a byproduct of being terrified by her situation. I do, however...

    10 overrated classics

I could never stand Shirley Temple. At the risk of offending someone, I see her as just a pouty little girl who got everyone's attention by looking cute.

Let's See Your Watches! The Vintage Watch Thread.

Actually, after looking at the watches on this above site, I bought this one: http://www.circawatch.com/ct119t.htm Yet from the site you posted. The add for this particular model has gone down since I placed the order, so maybe I got the last one. Looks very stylish in my...

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

I once got the question of "What's a fedora?" when I went into a clothing store just to see if they had any fedoras. I quickly spotted several baseball caps along a wall, but didn't seen anything else. I asked a clerk if the store had any fedoras, and he asked me if that was the maker of hat...

A little Swing for old time cops!

That's an awesome video. I'm a big fan of Glenn Miller, and love the Booogie Woogily Piggy song just as much as a lot of the other classics. The photos included in that video are neat as well. I enjoy looking at pictures of police officers, patrol cars, and the like from so long ago.

Too many bad Ebay experiences? Where did you find that Paddy? Is that from a painting, and do you know the title?
