not that i know of.
here's a jacket i used to own with a similar lapel (also mid 50s).
the combination of the rather steep downward-sloping gorge-line, wide lapel and high top button results in a very short lapel length which is quite distinctive.
you don't ever wear the narrow and shorter teens-early 20s trouser do you ?
if not, it would make sense as i don't think Balmorals go very well with wide legged trousers.
the black derbies can work though with wide legged trousers, especially in more of a 'work' outfit IMHO.
thanks. yes, it's a Luxire tab collar. more info in this thread: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?66661-Show-us-your-LUXIRE-vintage-looking-shirts/page28
thanks !
i don't keep a record of hours, but about 5 days for that type of topstitch-heavy jacket (the buttonholes are done on the Reece machine which saves time).
for a more tailored jacket with welt pockets / stripe-matching and hand-done buttonholes it would be more like 8-9 days.
if we shoot for that boot i think we'll get something good !
(i wouldn't expect it to be exactly the same, especially if they use lasts that they already have in stock rather than creating a new one from scratch, but for the price - and with expectations adjusted accordingly - it should still...
Papperskatt, thanks.... if they can do that Russian boot i will definitely place an order.
i'm not so keen on the height of a lot of their other Balmorals.... they look a bit high to me. would it be the same height as the original boot ?
the check is black but appears blue in the photos. to be honest, i'm dying to find / make a shirt that is better suited to this outfit. the Luxire shirt is the only early 20s collar style shirt i currently have which is why i wore it for that photo, though i agree it's not the perfect pairing.
