in my U.S. catalogues (currently 1918-24, and growing) there aren't any, apart from a couple of 'jerkins / vests with sleeves' which are something different.
esteban68, if you want a lightweight suiting you'll need to look into 'tropical' and 'fresco' suiting fabrics in the 8-10 oz range.
as someone who basically ditches the wool and wears linen and cotton in the summer, i can't offer any recommendations.
i don't think the 'basics' of menswear have really changed significantly since about 1900. only the specific design of each 'basic' changes.
that list (above) is just what was commonly available during the late teens - early 20s period, but not a list of recommended items by a menswear journal...
unfortunately, they don't have my favourite suits... Jimmy's two tweed olive ones from season one.

it's difficult to speak of 'staples' from the early 20th century because, as you've already noted, there was such a variety of suit and tie fabrics available that the consumer must have been spoilt for choice.
if we talk instead of what was 'commonly worn' then that's a bit easier...
24oz is fine for a shorter coat such as a mackinaw or pea coat, but if you're talking about a full length Ulster type of winter coat then personally i wouldn't go below the 30-36 oz range.
p.s. it's worth contacting Fox Brothers at their other site (not the Merchant Fox one) as they claim to...
