I've seen Some like it Holy in the flesh. They look ok, but would rather spend a little extra and go with Chester Cordite (I have 3 of his shirts, much loved).
What I need to know is how much shrinkage I might face from a Darcy. I'm hoping they're a heavier cloth than Chester Cordite (although...
Have you found it shrinks at all? I've heard they are VERY generous and I'm also a little worried sleeves will be too long? But I don't think anyone else is making quite what I want.
I think Chester Cordite have come on massively as a company. The only issue is their runs are often very small (say 5-10 on each shirt size in certain patterns). However Stuart is very helpful and I suspect he would sort you out, say if you wanted a second pair of trousers to go with a suit. The...
There's bound to be some good places for vintage then.
Paper Moon have closed their bricks and mortor and don't have much on their Etsy right now, but I suspect have a lot of unlisted stock they might be able to offer. Over Attired sell a lot of gorgeous stock, but often ask quite a bit...
I'd go with either vintage or Chester Cordite if you want proper waist and wool. For cotton Buzz Rickson Chinos are very good and hold a crease.
You might be able to find some early USAF Airforce Blues and there are some decent Officer Pink repro's out there. I'd love to find a decent repro of...
French work trousers even up to the 80s from what I can see were quite high rise. The ones from the 60s onwards would have slightly tapered hems too.
Buzz Rickson's make a very sturdy pair of chinos, with wide, but not crazy hems.
SJC are not that high rise from experience. I'm very happy...

Eileen Sheridan documentary
Went for the Online Millitaria /WPG one's in the end. The pattern is an exact copy of the orginals as far as I can see, the colour is lighter than the picture posted. Not sure how close to Jungle Green cloth it is, but seems sturdy.
Only issue I've had is the waist adjusters not really...
I'm trying to find a soft spearpoint collar shirt, more casual and unlikely to be worn with a tie. Been watching a few documentaries and short films about post war cycling and a lot of these about in Europe in the 30s to 40s.
Looking for something that can be worn for camping, gentle cycle...
Unusually for me (since I mostly take and interest in American vintage and 20s- 50s style) I've developed an interest in the shorts worn by the British and Australian military during the Second World War era.
I'm primarily interested for practical reasons- the waist adjusters look smart, but...
Good point, he gets hold of a lot of lovely stuff. Do you know what his prices are like though?
I'm also aware that much of this can be brought knew still, but I haven't the £275- 375 being asked by Hilltrek, Lancashire Pike or Grenfell to spare right now.
Looking for a 40-42 Something along the lines of this
Or this
So basically looking for an uncuffed, unhooded, water resistant cotton, with side adjusters. Darker Colours preferred since will be used on a bike.
Does anyone have a rough idea about what sort of saddlebags they used to use on club runs in the 30s-50s. Currently looking to get a Carradice one- seen a few Nelson ones on fleBay, but they seem a little big, not sure if the Barley is too small?

Another colour. These were far superior to last years Chinos from SJC which had grading issues which created a weird fit. I ended up sizing up twice and they still didn't fit right. I think Simon and his team have worked hard to fix this...
