    Liberating Women's Bodies

Or that you work out at home a few hours a week and follow a good eating plan. That's what I do. Of course, you can go to a lot more time, effort and expense if you want to.

That, and complain that dress clothes--pants or skirt and a jacket that shouldn't be either tight or loose--are soooo uncomfortable. [huh]

    Liberating Women's Bodies

I sometimes see--through their t-shirts--that women are wearing the wrong size bra. If you're bulging out the top, you're wearing the wrong size.

    The fall of the phone

:eusa_clap I don't have a cell phone, Facebook, account, or Myspace account and I don't Twitter or text. What am I going to do, take a call from the pharmacy while I'm dancing? Call my aunt in California while I'm on the bus? Announce to all and sundry creeps what my relationship status is...

    The fall of the phone

There's a number for emergencies: 911. For questions that probably won't have a follow-up question, I prefer e-mail. It gives me a record of the conversation and the person can answer my question at their convenience. The record is nice because I can't always remember my question or whether I...

If you don't want visible raisins, you'd best wear a bra. :D

    Liberating Women's Bodies

Yup, it was the bra. :D There was another movie that featured a strapless, backless bra designed on the cantilever principle. Can't remember which movie.

    Liberating Women's Bodies

They say that a lot of women are wearing the wrong size bra. That could be a comfort factor. From an engineering standpoint, a reducing bra should, I would think, spread the load left and right instead of flattening it, thereby decreasing comfort, or worse, shift it forward, increasing the...

    Childless in the Golden Era

Not for me. I have a low tolerance for certain kinds of noise. Jackhammers, honking horns, barking dogs and such don't bother me. But if I'm around loud kids for 15 minutes, I get a splitting headache. Personally, I knew from about age 12 that I didn't want any. I like the points made...

    Childless in the Golden Era

So, for those of us who don't care who said what to whom, probably quite a few female performers were childless (I think Ella Fitzgerald and Greta Garbo were among them). And yes, KD Lightner, I like coming home to a peaceful house. :)

    Childless in the Golden Era

I have a book called Millionaire Women Next Door. There's a chapter on horrible things adult children do to their parents to extract money from them. The kids who did those things had been given a lot of money by their parents--and came to think of that money as owed to them. I don't work in...

    Childless in the Golden Era

Offspring should be taught to be independent so they don't need to keep Mom in a third-rate nursing home in order to inherit more money. Parents need to get their affairs in order so their children (or whoever is their executor or has power of attorney) won't have to deal with a mess. Just...

    Eddie Bauer

Over the past few months, I've bought some t-shirts and a pair of pants from EB. I think they're great: good stitching, thicker-than-usual fabric, the pants sit at the waist where they belong, and the shirts have a long tail. But then, I'm comparing these to typical women's clothes, which are...

    Childless in the Golden Era

I remembered my Aunt A. last weekend. No kids: her husband made her have three abortions. :(

    Childless in the Golden Era

If someone regrets not having kids, the question is whether she's unhappy because she wants kids but can't have any, or if she wants kids because she's unhappy. In the latter case, there are things you can do to make yourself happy that require a lot less time, money and effort than a baby...

    Beauty Marks

I have one by the outer corner of my left eye and three on my neck. Never thought of them as sexy. [huh]

I'm certainly no expert here, but I think there must be something more to the dress in the BW photo above than drapey fabric. It looks like it would be challenging to get the sleeve to stay up. As for foundation garments, most women look a lot better with some support.
