I've a self-tipped tie of a similar age that boasts the fact that it's self-tipped. They're not bad I suppose, but they feel a bit anachronistic.

Thanks Esteban. They are a bit tapered - I think the cuff is about 9.5". I think my waistcoat is a pretty non-standard type really.

Labels are always a finicky thing. I think very often they can trick you into assuming dates etc, when nobody in the day perhaps played by the rules in terms of the correct label to sew in!
