A soft, pliable hat depends on many things. One is the materials used, but another is how the hat is finished (I believe some modern hats are stiffened with some sort of additive. I was told once what it was, but I've forgotten the name. It's some spray-on stiffening agent to make the hat hold...
A while ago, I bought this little gold-plated pillbox (at least I think that's what it is). The plating is almost all gone. I've always liked little things like this. Small containers, jars, bottles, boxes and stuff.
I was wondering what to do with it, when I realised, it's the perfect size...
Listen to Talbot. Stay away from gold-plated stuff as much as possible. It'll rub off in the space of months and your once beautiful watch will look like trash.
Caleb, you should be proud of what you have there! It's a stunning watch.
James, I have FIVE pocketwatches. Only one of them is a railroad watch.
I have one late-Victorian IWC.

I have one Elgin from 1918.
I have one Ball from 1950 (the one I showed earlier)...

The first edition is basically complete. I sent it off to be proofread. And then once I've finished sorting out all the pictures, I will send it off to the Chief of Staff to have it run through the production-team in preparation for publication. I HOPE to get it done by the end of the...
