I have two. Dating from around late 50s to 60s. The felt is thick like a modern rabbit hat body. Yet the feel is like velvet and chamois cloth. Was this their standard finish? I don't think it's velour finish as the nap is short and it's very dense. Just wondering. -

Thanks all. Yes it certainly is in great shape for its age. Liner is nearly stain free. Some moth nibbles here and there. -

Sounds good. My Borsalino has thick felt and I have worn it plenty in some light rain. The Dobbs though is very thin. Makes my feather weight penman look thick. -

Dobbs fifteen feeling much better now after a little steam and wetting behind sweat and then stretching just a tad. For $15 dollars back in the day I would say it would have been still a good deal. Love the color change this one has inside and outdoors. -
