Nice. Here is my Steve Delk made AB raiders in beaver. Been reblocked once. 2 years old and worn heavily. This one has a feel to it that's so nice. Very much like velvet. -

Nice Here is mine. Size 4 1/2 cloth tag. Onion or oil skin over liner tip. So probably late 50s early 60s era. Slightly bigger fit fixed with some felt behind the sweat. Better bigger than too small though I say. I was at a traffic light that was red. Ha. No worries there. -

Yeah. This one is going back unfortunately. Sweat is wavy. The Dobbs 15 I purchased looks better though so we will see. -

So size. My recent vintage Dobbs was listed as a 6 7/8" but tags inside say a 7. My 4 1/2 borsolino is closer to a size 7 (and it fits looser than I prefer so I have some crafting felt behind the sweat),yet the Dobbs feels tighter than a 6 7/8". I know hats that old would have shrunk a hare... -

Could you use a fabric dye? Guessing a dye would be the only kind of colorant that would not flake off but you could try a craft water based paint. -

Ha. Thanks for the compliment. As for this hat. Weird thing is the label says 7. I wear a 6 7/8". This hat band has shrunk a lot for it to fit this snug on me. -

Hi gentleman. One more question about the fedora. That 5 1/2" open crown sounds right. The listing had the brim at 3 3/4". I think this was a typo and the brim is really 2 3/4" or there abouts. But maybe the seller has it right and this is going to be one shady brim. Would 2 3/4" be about right... -

So regarding the Dobbs fifteen I just scored. The crown is pretty tall still with the teardrop crease. How easy would this be to rehash a little lower giving it a deeper teardrop crease? Here is view from back. Listing has crown height at 4 3/4"
