You won't wear the rigid jeans because it'll take a week or three til they are soft like your stonewashed ones?
I get that. When I grew up they were always stiff....I hated it too...and kids in school razzed you because you had new jeans. I guess that is what started the pre-wash soft market...
For $5? Not worth the gas money or time to either place....just wear'em, wash'em and treat them like the boring jeans in the first place and all will be fine...
Keep in mind, when you open the cuffs, the sleeves will lengthen. I've always liked the look of buttons, but the practicality of studs. I've found once I unbutton the cuffs, I don't re-button right away, let'em hang, re-buttoning is sometimes an effort or else I'm just a backhanded klutz. I've...
Actually, in my work life I find guys wearing Carhartt do work hard, as we all do, but are a bit self-conscious about the brand ever since it has become chic. Key, Revco, and a couple other welding shirt mfrs far surpass Carhartt out on the job, from what I see, and rightfully so, being better...
I have a Filson and a Woolrich. Imho the Woolrich is so far better it is not even a comparison. Trumps Carhartt as well but may be pricier. Mine is about fifteen years old, removable blanket lining, chore/barn jacket....been through plenty...might not be as well made these days as it was then...
I have a bunch of these, all "fashion" brands. Two by Remy, 2 by Boss. all via ebay, like new. 2 lamb, 1 nubuck, 1 suede. Remy also has some retail presence in CA I think. I also have 2 heavier ones (a bit thicker, good for heavier sweaters or such): Donna Karan--not the DKNY line, the full...
MM, did those older Wranglers have slightly bigger, boxier shoulders than Levi or Lee jackets? I seem to remember getting one because it had bigger shoulders and I could wear it over more or heavier stuff easier vs. the others, which only seemed to work over a t-shirt or thin oxford-cloths. The...
Great jacket....and I think the look of it outscales the pedigree. Keep in mind that Wrangler, post Blue Bell, was really a licensing operation from VF (Lee, among others) who bought them in the 80s, and used them as brand leveraging via licensing deals all over the place. There were no real...
The best winter leather jacket I have is a very thick/heavy naked cow leather with a thinsulate lining (Fox Creek). As someone said, it's the lining not the leather that matters, but the reason I like the naked cow is that even being thick and thinsulated-lined it can still flex easily, remain...
I have a Hillside HH vest w/cordura lining. Wear it a lot, think it is very well made. But when I first got it, I felt it came a bit long and wide in the waist, though chest was perfect; I wore it a bit, got the feel, was certain it was a bit long/big and called them. He was exceptionally nice...
I had a dark brown suede type 3, circa mid 80s, not Levi, an Asian knockoff...it was tough thick pig suede, lined in light brown cotton, took a bit to break in. Had lighter brown contrast stitching, cuffs and seams, but matching stitching on pockets.
Looked better the more it matted and was...
Hillside does them...easy to deal with. I worked off a stock HH w/cordura lining and customized from there.

One thing to keep in mind is sizing if you use the inner pockets and opt for cordura, you may need to size up...but they...
I would not want to be doing outdoor work all day in an unbroken Aero HH or heavy steer, the heavier the worse, especially lined heavy. I actually do outdoor work all day (documentary camera) lifting, bending, carrying...and the leather that works is the tough heavy deer, like LW will do...maybe...
I can't seem to find the "house brand" buffalo hide jackets on the website (unless my jacket addiction counselor has crippled that function on my computer).......Edited: Oh, it's Pacifiic.
Great. Always wanted one, but just didn't know if I would be able to drive car in one--or even get in the car. I've got a LW suburban sheepskin and that is about as much beast as I can handle. Congrats. They do make great stuff. Hope it stays cold for awhile for you!
