I thought about putting in my 2 cents, blinked and now there's 12 pages about this. Too bad, here's another page.
When I was married my wife thought I should start "dressing my age"--this was as I was approaching 50. I thought about that: and said 'Nah." After I got divorced....badda bing...
I felt the same way...diappointed and how can i wear this, smudgy feeling on hands, backs of shirts (mine was a Levi trucker) but after a dozen or so hard wears....working outside, rain, etc....i really like it....feels fine now, no residue, warmer than it seems...because less porous....liked it...
One more choice for a longer back is a Langlitz Cascade. Looks nice whether you ride or not. I have a slant, but whether you get it slanted or straight...the cow breaks in easy, or you can go goat...and it has the longer curved back, and they will work with you to customize, etc....even have a...
I had a Fox Creek cafe racer that I even bought a size up, like you, and was too tight and I sent it back. On the other hand, I have their leather jean jacket which, if anything, is about a half size too big, plenty roomy even for a sweater. Also their bomber/cycle with the built in perf vest...
Likewise: I've never had a seam go, and I've had some jackets over 20 years with lots of physical wear. I have had linings degrade as Seb says, and also tears on backs and arms in the leather due to rough use, caught on nails, spills, etc.--but not because of stress points. But no seams, even on...
I have both an Aero Teamster with that and an LW vest. In actual daily wear, which has been plenty, there's been no adverse effect to those areas. And it more and more blends with the rest of the jacket/vest.
I agree with this, below....you can't bottle stuff up in this day and age, the thread should go on...but I also am not interested in the people/blame/culprit issues....that will always be speculation. I AM interested in the jackets, leathers, and construction/build and even business aspects of...
On another matter, as the owner of 3 Aero Steer jackets...one heavy, one mid, and one oiled (all bought second hand, one from the Aero site)...I love the steer, especially the heavy steer I have. So, even if these jackets were wrongly sold and have to be replaced, the jackets themselves should...
I would give them a 20 minute cold soak (it'll take a while for water to really permeate them)--zippered!--then dry outside til just a little damp and then squeeze yourself into them and wear for as long as you can...that may help stretch them where they need it most After a couple weeks of...
I have a deerskin one, and got it to work in, because it is supple, I can layer, and it takes movement well. You want a flight jacket if you want something trimmer. Great jacket but it's made to move in.
One thing I've done, and it might seem crazy with a coat that substantial, is to wear an alpaca or wool poncho over the hh jackets, at least for awhile, or when i put them on. They warm up real fast that way, within minutes, and it makes the breaking in easier and faster....though naked in the...
