No model name on this one, Bob. Only tag inside is the original sales tag
So it sold for $12.95 from Meier & Frank Co. It has an overwelt edge that has the stitching so well hidden it looks like a Mode Edge model at a glance
Looking great today, everyone!
hatsRme has inspired me to branch out to slightly smaller brims than my usual;
Stetson Royal DeLuxe
Late 50's (guessing?) 2 1/4 brim
Drdan, I'm with Daniele on getting a vintage Borsalino if you are at all interested in going that way. The quality of the felt, form and the attention to detail is simply the best.
Mayser, that Janyska is absolutely stupendous! I itch just looking at it! How is that hat not lined?
p.s. You don't happen to have one of those in a size 60 by any chance? Cause I'm in!
Bob, Chamuco, those Camp Drafts are looking real nice! I may have to get more colors.
Alan that Milan is exquisite
hRme-the Gary White is fantastic with that shirt
Hato-very cool, unique Whippet. Almost seems like a Homburg conversion
S4C-that Fifteen is killer!
Fruno-Akubra Fedora is looking...
Drdan, You won't find a lot of love for modern Borsalino's here on the Lounge. Their felt quality is not consistant so it's good to buy in person and judge for yourself. I have several modern Borso's and like them and have had no problem with durability or rain. That being said, the Akubra's are...
Moon, as long as you're replacing that button;
You should put one of these on;
p.s. If you actually find someone who can make one of these let me know;)
I can't believe there hasn't been more comments on these cool hats. Aside from being great looking hats in general the hidden stitching on the sweatband is an interesting part of hat history.
I wonder if the Palco box is even more rare than the hats!
Add me to the chorus, Eric. Great finds and great clean up on them.
I really appreciate you adding your pictures and methods the the Naptha Bath thread. You've given me the confidence to try this myself. I've been storing up a few hats to clean this way.
Fedoralover, finding a vintage...
I think You've stumped everyone here. I agree with the earlier post that this a more modern low end Borsalino from the last 20 or 30 years, probably not older. Cool felt on it, it's a keeper if you ask me.
Mayser, those are stunning! Such amazing preservation. I really like the liner on the second one. Does it seem a higher quality or just a liner variation? I realize it says "Qualita Superiore" like the others but it looks "extra special".
