In the spirit of the forum:
FELT: Natural
CROWN: 5 3/4"
BRIM: 2 3/4", Flat
RIBBON: Sand in 19 ligne (1 3/4”), frayed bow
BINDING: Sand in 9 ligne (7/8")
My second commission with Michael is influenced by a flat-brimmed Nick Fouquet lid.
Here's Michael's spot-on interpretation with a signature Gannon bow:
Should be on my head by end of next week. I look forward to "relicing" mine the old fashioned way.

Thanks @Short Balding Guy. My upcoming commission is Natural beaver, and should ship within the next few days. I have a feeling I will be able to substitute it for a helmet.
My first commission was a Silvermist beaver, however. I believe it was you and @Chamuco that started the Silvermist...
'I'm excited to see what you've got cookin', Moon (did anyone just catch that Miles reference?!?! Anyone? Bueller?). My second commission with Michael will be a bold first for me too (and I believe a first for him). Should have images any day now. *Insert Jeopardy theme song*
WINTER IS COMING!
My first non-luggage/backpack Filson piece arrived today. It's the limited run Short Cruiser in Khaki from January. I couldn't find any specific info for it online, so I shot Filson's customer service department a note with a few images, and they ID'd it right away...
It seems that everyone — myself included — is posting Gannon hats of the "formal" variety, but the rain that's been sweeping across the country has me wondering how a Gannon holds up in a downpour. Anyone brave enough to battle mother nature in a custom lid?
My foul weather head protectors have...
The Filson products are something that I have been raised with. My father and grandfather wore Filson wool jackets. Our relatives in the Northern Minn. area wear Filson. My relatives in N. Finland I have sent Filson products to wear them. Fondly we refer to the red/black Filson (same given...

Drugs, rock 'n roll, and thousand dollar reliced hats. Kids these days...
I couldn't say it better. Instagram is a resource for all things "art" - wether that's hats, music, photographers, painters, and everything in between. I've been Facebag (patent pending) free for over a year now thanks to Instagram, and my world is much better for it.
This is as "in the wild" as I can seem to get this week. Photo is white balanced to show the silvermist felt as accurate as possible.
The silvermist felt (old batch from Winchester) is EXTREMELY thin — a decent wind can easily reshape the brim. It will make for a wearable felt all summer...
Eric (or @Short Balding Guy), I've been searching for the perfect gray felt for a very long time, and your blue smoke lid appears to fit the bill. How "blue" is it actually in person, say, compared to your silvermist Gannon? These things are near impossible to photograph — and I'm a photog!
