Bought another Garand
That makes 5 Garands - I'm out of control - this one a Korean War era refurbish of a 1943 Springfield with a 1950 dated SA barrel and some post WWII parts.
Just discovered Joe Bonamassa - I can't believe someone this talented was completely unknown to me, my extended family and my co-workers. None of us had ever heard of the guy and he's made 10 albums! The Royal Albert Hall concert is just amazing - if you like Blues/Rock guitar you've got to...
Glenrothes 1994 single malt - never had heard of this brand before - I was given a bottle by coworkers - now I know how much they love me - very nice scotch.
That's the problem -it's only about 3/4 covered and there is nothing less appealing than a partially exposed bum. If it is me. Now if you're Shakira. Then it's ok.:p

I did a search finding one comment that they are worn at the level of the belly button but the photos that I've see seem to suggest that they are worn above the belly button. Is there a rule of thumb?
Thanks!
John
I appreciate all the replies. The jacket meets the sleeve length test of curling your hand up but not the overall length test of the upper thumb joint - it's about 2-inches off which is how short the jacket looked from the beginning. Top of collar to bottom edge is 29.5-inches - my other...
My all-time favorite was Jonny Quest. Getting to go to far-off exotic places outsmarting bad guys and the occassional monster. I wanted to be Race Bannon when I grew up.
I haven't seen the show for decades but a couple of episodes stand out - there was one with pterydactals (sp.) in the...
I've got a nice dark blue with light brown pinstripes DB suit that was made between 1939-1949 and the jacket is a little short. This means that it doesn't completely cover my crotch or bum - about 1 1/2 inches too short. Can I wear it like this and not look weird or is this a big no-no for the...
I know that I'm supposed to be more open minded and I like JD, especially in films like the first Pirates movie, Public Enemies or Sleep Hollow and he could probably banter away but would it be as good as or even close to Mr. Powell? I can't imagine that it would be. Christina Ricci as Nora...
RLK - beautiful hat! Where do you find these things? That's three of these "The Motor" hats on the forum so far with mine being in the worst shape because of the condition of the sweatband.
Both Alan's and RLK's sweatbands look brand new - wow!
Alan - is your rear sweatband seam...
Thanks Lefty! I have examined the parallel to the sweatband stitch with a 10x loop and it appears mostly untorn. I'll take it over to a local hat repair and see what they think. If they can't do a credible job then it will remain untouched. Many thanks to all who replied!

I hate this idea. The original Thin Man and the Powell/Loy pairing is a classic and one my favorite films of all time. Depp will never surpass Powell in this role and I can't imagine anyone who could do Nora better than Loy. No, no, nope, negatory . . . .
Stetson Standard Quality grey felt, "The Motor" Feather Weight. By all accounts as much as 80 years old - very light weight compared to my Imperials and Royals. And, since it's only in the 90s today and I was only out running errands for a short time, it was fine.
Geez, son, don't hide that hat! Be a man . . . . . and just out-and-out lie like me. "Oh no, I've had that hat for years, sweetheart. I'm surprised you didn't notice it. I traded that old grey one for it so it didn't cost me a thing......etc. :) For this to work, you must own at least...
