That's the problem -it's only about 3/4 covered and there is nothing less appealing than a partially exposed bum. If it is me. Now if you're Shakira. Then it's ok.:p John -
How high should 1930s-1940s era high-waisted pants be worn?
I did a search finding one comment that they are worn at the level of the belly button but the photos that I've see seem to suggest that they are worn above the belly button. Is there a rule of thumb? Thanks! John -

I appreciate all the replies. The jacket meets the sleeve length test of curling your hand up but not the overall length test of the upper thumb joint - it's about 2-inches off which is how short the jacket looked from the beginning. Top of collar to bottom edge is 29.5-inches - my other... -

I've got a nice dark blue with light brown pinstripes DB suit that was made between 1939-1949 and the jacket is a little short. This means that it doesn't completely cover my crotch or bum - about 1 1/2 inches too short. Can I wear it like this and not look weird or is this a big no-no for the... -

Thanks Lefty! I have examined the parallel to the sweatband stitch with a 10x loop and it appears mostly untorn. I'll take it over to a local hat repair and see what they think. If they can't do a credible job then it will remain untouched. Many thanks to all who replied! John -

Stetson Standard Quality grey felt, "The Motor" Feather Weight. By all accounts as much as 80 years old - very light weight compared to my Imperials and Royals. And, since it's only in the 90s today and I was only out running errands for a short time, it was fine. -
