I appreciate the replies! I'll see what I can do but, like I wrote, I think it is wearable as is if I take some simple precautions like don't jerk the hat off my head too fast. On another note, do these numbers mean anything to the forum or is this a Stetson need to know only kind of numbering... -

Well I got my Stetson model - The Motor - Feather Weight - and it fits! Here's the ebay ad: Contrary to what we thought the sweatband is in pretty good shape - only one very small tear on an edge and some scuffing but, by and large, very sound and very soft and maleable. Some idiot... -
45ACP Revolvers
In the 45acp I prefer the Smith over the Colt but as Deacon said I think it is personal preference. As an alternative, I would rather have a S&W HD in 44 special over either of them. I have a second model right now and I would love to have a Triple Lock.- Levallois

I just discovered Black Butte Porter made by Deschutes in Oregon. Man what a delicious beer! Chocolate and coffee notes and smoo.........ooth. Perfect with a maduro cigar.- Levallois

I don't see myself restoring "The Motor." I was thinking more of a stabilization. If it will significantly change or damage the historical nature of the hat then I won't do it. Having said that and within those parameters, I will do everything that I can so that I can wear the hat... -

Ok, so three of these known. And "The Motor" is the model like the Imperial, the Royal, etc.? Is the consensus that these really date to late 1920s-early 1930s? Also, how would treat/preserve the sweatband? Thanks! -
