Agreed. It's an absolute keeper, regardless. If it was a repro I'd almost hold it in higher esteem because the repros are so much better made than the originals. If it's original, it's in amazing condition. Either way, a major score.

Agreed, the grain emerges as the leather breaks in, and it becomes more apparent. This doesn't take very long, though, within the first few weeks or months if worn regularly.

Russet Badalassi looks closer to my eye than SB's cognac, and better. Of course, there's so many variables at play with photos and computer monitors that it could be completely misleading. Best to see a sample in person. And then understand that even then it can vary from batch to batch.
Is it an original Buco Buco or a Real McCoy remake? It's in such nice condition that I'd guess repro, and also since you mentioned it is heavy. If it is, that's actually better in my book, because the originals weren't made as well as the reproductions done in homage to them.
