    It looks like an original lining, from what I can see in the photos. I don't have any advice on whether to replace it or not. You could consider patching. Just depends on how much you want to spend and how nice you want it to be. Cal is still around, so probably the best place to go.

    I don't have any Bates jackets, but I can't imagine why someone would to through the trouble of rebranding a Vanson to Bates labels. It doesn't make sense. But it does look like a Vanson Model E or Model C2. Whatever it is, it's sweet.

    Thanks for the report. That does sound light. I weighed my Sheene at 6.0 lbs (the black heavy steer one). I forget offhand what the cordovan FQHH one weighs, a bit less I imagine, but not a lot less.

    Assuming it's in good shape, it's not a bad deal. Vanson jackets are around $600-800 new depending on the model now. They tend to go around $350-500, so $400 is reasonable. The Maverick is a great jacket, not that I've owned one personally, but I've drooled over some of the photos shared...
