That is one great looking jacket, Worf! I think the fit looks very good, and a guy needs a little room, ya' know. I was going to suggest that if you ever think it fits a bit too big, just solicit an opinion from Pumbline.
However, if you decide to go with skinny-leg jeans at some point in the...
I will say that it depends on the blanket used. I have several blanket-lined jackets (rather common in Cowboy Country) and they range from "not much difference" to "bloody hell, this is warm!" The really warm one has a thick Pendleton wool blanket lining, and the not-much-difference ones have...
A vest will keep an untucked tee shirt from flapping up-and-over one's head. They can also be pretty groovy in allowing one to conceal a handgun more readily. And....they can block a bit of wind, as mentioned in a posting, above. Some of them can hold a wallet in a secure pocket, and keep a pack...
ZHZ, I like that jacket. My Vanson/Insurrection PLU-3 fits about the same on me, lengthwise. While I wouldn't want all of mine to be this long, it is nice to have an option, as I sometimes leave the shirt out, as well.
I like the idea of a shortened wind flap, particularly in light of one cafe racer I'm just now in the process of breaking in. It's full length flap is almost a garrotte, at present. I'm sure it will soften....if I can breathe long enough while wearing it.
The red lining holds much appeal also!
I didn't realize what it was at the time, but when I was quite small my uncle had the whole Tiki thing going at his house. I loved that music and only (re-)discovered it in the last couple of years.
What I'm telling you is that to many, many, and even more many.... Okies, everything unknown is...
Worf, there is an unspoken risk involved when using Insurrection's offer of a fit jacket: the fit jacket. I wanted a Vanson Team jacket and as Vanson had none anywhere in their pipeline, Insurrection had them send me a Stadium jacket as a fit jacket; they are identical in size. The plan was for...
I've never had good results combining knit waists and off-duty carry: it just always seems to print and/or ride up. This is with Mitch Rosen holsters. While not ideal in every situation, a good shoulder holster has served me well when paired with an A-2, even with a full-sized 1911.
Those buttonholes make sense to me; my fear is that having buttons on a stiff and heavy garment will result in the buttons being torn off by having to force them through stiff leather. It could be an unfounded fear.
From the Vanson website:
How do I break this thing in?
Wear it. Roll it up and use it as a pillow when you watch TV. Unroll it and roll it the other way. Work it with your hands. Wear it more....
