All of my Wesco boots have the standard toe configuration, which is pretty roomy. The only downside to this is that the only motorcycles I have that allow the boot-toe under the gearshift lever, are the big Harleys. None of my BMWs, or even the Harley XR1200X (the coolest bike on the planet)...
Leather is a poor insulator, regardless of thickness. It's what is under the leather that can keep one warm. By the way, that Speed Demon looks to be one terrific jacket.
I think both jackets look good. The "oversize" one only appears that way when contrasted with the slimmer fit of the BR, otherwise it will always look like a great fit to anyone you encounter. And with the larger one...you will always have room to eat a couple more sammiches and still be able to...
When it gets really cold and I'm going to be outside for some time I always grab a Blauer parka. I also have a nice Filson Double Mac that is pretty groovy. If I will just be standing around I might grab a B-3.
I hope you get a good ride. We are at 30°F and snowing today. If you encounter a fogging problem after getting the balaclava, consider getting a Pinlock face shield for your helmet: they are magic.

I have a pair of Nomads in a beautiful chromexcel , size 11D. The shaft measurement at the top is 17 3/8 inches. This was taken at the smallest opening of the adjustable shaft. My 11Ds fit a bit larger than the same boot from Wesco, so I use inserts in them.
I'm 5'11" and about the same chest size. My jacket is a 42 and has gobs and heaps (technical terms) of room for layering. A size 40 would have fit just fine, I think. But it is nice to have one jacket that will fit over just about any layering, and really the fit of the 42 doesn't look bad...
They have held up very well. They do look worn, but in that "old friend" sort of way. And, they be comfy, on the bike and off. (Please don't show that last sentence to my English-teacher wife.)
