Wow, the colour and grain on that jacket is spectacular! You don't see many of those capeskin A1s in the wild. At least I haven't seen many in picures and none in person. It surely is a great find and the fit is excellent as is the rest of your attire. Must be a great jacket for warmer climates...
So far an apprentice made military jacket hasn't come up on their sales page. All military jackets are made by Edith who is a super picky top notch machinist. I haven't had an Aero A2 or M422a that hasn't been perfect in terms of workmanship. Buy with confidence!
Pike Brothers from Germany make a VERY nice B-10 with real mouton collar, talon zipper and many more period correct details. The outer shell fabric is very close to an original wartime jacket's fabric.
Currently they are sold out but a new batch will soon be in stock.
Check them out...
Hi,
so far your order sounds great. Very detailed spec sheet with loads of useful details.
One or two things to consider:
-OD gabardine is sold out and will never come back. I suggest brown cotton drill for the sleeves
-The two way zipper is a very good idea. Looks great and is very...
Great(!!!) jacket! I love it and the fit is excellent. You look very smart in it and the rest of your attire is a dead match for the jacket. Good jeans and boots too!!
Yes!. Imagine a slightly lighter and a little more pliable FQHH...
Some pictures of my The Cockpit Mil-Spec G1 after spray bottle water treatment: As you can see it worked pretty well. The jacket is very close fitting and the stitching is flawless. Real mouton collar too...
PS: Pics were taken very shortly after Christmas. Can you see the...
Actually too much leather conditioner can increase the colour loss/transfer because some formulas seem to force the dye out of the leather.
As mentioned above, give the jacket a good rub with a soft flanel or cotton t-shirt. Make sure to spare the top stitching.
Hello everybody,
this is my latest acquisition from Scott Willis (dontmournorganize.com):
It's a mid size wallet made of chestnut brown Horween CXL horsehide. The interior is made from tan veg tanned horsehide. The wallet features many card slots and a generous pleated coin pouch.
It also...
This is all rumours, you see, but I've heard that the Windward (because it's too short for most people/ too short for how people like to wear their trousers today) and the HG-5 (weak seller) will be dropped in the not too distant future. They still might redesign the patterns for those who die...
I heard that the Windward is not a good seller for Aero and that (along with one or two other models) it will be discontinued in the near future. Some Aero dealers have already stopped offering it.
This thread might be in fact a good idea to accumulate pictures and useful information on this...
Wet both sides of the fold with hot water and use that monkey clip again. Should do the job... The jacket is veg tanned so water shaping works very well.
Good catch, Edward! The leather looks very comfortable, the fit is very good but as Griff said, it needs to be broken in. My friends know me for having a very keen eye and I've handled an apprentice made jacket in the past and I couldn't tell the difference. Though some of these jackets are made...
The J106 and the Daytona (and the Bootleger - not a real MC jacket, I know) are the closest fitting of all diagonal zipper MC jackets Aero offers. If you want a really trim fitting jacket you can ask Will to build you a J106 using the basic measurements of a Cafe Racer. That's possible and been...
Hello everybody,
I have to let go this beautiful (and rare) Buzz Rickson B2 jacket:
Apart from trying it on it is unworn and perfect in all aspects! And it comes with all tags and bits and bobs. I even supply the protective polythene bag it came in. Generous size 40, fits...
Great jacket! Superb fit and a set of really cool details. Love the scalloped yoke and the horn buttons! Post some more pictures with some proper attire if possible. Wear it in good health!
