About the sleeve cuffs, they design them that way deliberately. The Mike (the owner) explains the construction and design of the Model A jacket, and mentions the design of the cuff, right around 4:10:

I normally do not like center seams on motorcycle jackets, but I have a C2 in comp weight and it fits me so well, I couldn't care less about the center seam on it.

Vanson offer a huge variety of styles, and their prices are currently very, very reasonable as compared to other makers. If you happen to like one of the styles, you might want to own one of them. I don't think it's complicated.
The batch of natural cxl fqhh they were using last year for Thurston wasn't particularly heavy. I had to ask for a remake on mine due to the sleeves being an inch too long, and asked if I they could use heavier natural cxl if they had any, and they did. I ended up completely satisfied. But if...
