In that case, matching that leather will be all the more difficult...
Maybe the way to go is to turn it into a two-tone jacket with a contrasting leather for the epaulets and belt.
But it just sounds more and more like an impossible project.
In order:
1. God
2. Marty McFly and Doc Brown
3. Dena
Schott Perfectos are common enough that unless you got it for close to free, or didn't mind the missing bits being missing, it would have been better to pass on it and find one that was intact. It can be done, I'm sure, and Dena would...
They used to have heavier heavyweight, sometimes 4.5+oz stuff. I think their standard weight for both horse and steer is 3.0oz now, and heavy maxes out at 4.0oz. But horse has always been a stiffer leather, at least in Horween's cxl formula, in my experience.
I like both but I think I prefer steer, just slightly. Steer is easier to break in, and develops such amazing character as it ages.
Horse has a tighter grain which may make it slightly more waterproof.
I don't think you can know for sure without a DNA test, but I can guess pretty accurately...
The idea that you have to go cxl for your first Aero is unfounded. They provide options for a reason. You should get what appeals to you. Color is easier to decide, the other characteristics are harder to know, even if you have a small sample swatch it's not easier to envision how it works as a...
The fact that they made this gives me some tiny hope that they might one day agree to make reproductions of the "Vertical Zip Map Pocket" jacket. I sure would like to get one done.
Mine, originally purchased by 58panheadfan, has the snap cuffs, which I vastly prefer to buttons. Be advised that the main zip is a European style left hand zipper, which seems to be typical of Thedi jackets, but you can request a right hand zip if you prefer.
Correct. Original thread on this jacket is here: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/aero-natural-cxl-hh-j-106-kotr-indian-mix-biker-jacket.97528/
The very same photos in the first post.
Yes, it is.
If OP wants this, get it from Aero. A Pakistan knockoff will only disappoint. It's really a shame that so little is being done about these image stealers. A knockoff is one thing, but at least take photos of what you're selling. It's a complete misrepresentation of what you will get.
