That is outstanding! Plus, it fits you the way I have come to like my jackets. Just a little bit of wriggle room without losing that badass silhouette.
I am sure you’re right about leather offerings. I am afraid, I‘m more of a lazy customer. I ordered both of my boots without specifying any specific leather options and while I kind of like my pair of 178 boots, the leathers nothing special. I also got the 268 and the leather was so bad, I...
Yes, a beast for sure!
Boots are Dundas 01 out of Norway. Some boot nerds who have them fabricated in Northamptonshire in all sorts of quality leathers. They are not cheap (EUR 450 plus VAT/Customs to get the, into the EU), but craftsmanship is pretty great.
Hmm, pretty big in the shoulders too. You already wear a thick jumper, so little chance of „filling it out“ further.
The extra fabric will not go away with break-in. You can try to shrink it a bit by soaking in hot water, if you decide to keep it.
Its not unwearable though, and the hide looks...
To be fair, their leather option are WAY better than the Lennon „house“ leathers (the standard black leather is pretty awful to my eyes).
Another issue post Brexit is that Dundas offer reduced prices for EU customers to account for the additional VAT on import.
All in all, I tend to view...
I actually saw a video of her „surprise“ appearance at the station (not that I believe ANYthing she does is ever spontaneous), and my secret desire for a Vanson Star is burning red hot again.
Agreed on the handwarmer pockets.
Here´s a picture of my Aviator. It does have handwarmers, but without zippers it´s visually much more pleasing (IMO only, of course).
Lenght is debatbale. It´s a halfbelt, of course, and I have often thought, that an inch more wouldn´t have hurt, but of...
I am not sure that GW will offer you the fit you are after.
I only ever owned one of their jackets (bought used), and I found the cut pretty boxy, with low armholes. My attempt on discussing a custom fit failed with John consequentely ignoring my attempts at making contact (others seem to be...
Thanks much!
So glad it fits well. This is not a forgiving hide. Too large, and you float around the jacket like a turtle in a shell. Too small - man, I don’t even want to think about it. They’d probably need a chainsaw to cut you out of it.
Thank you!
I hope, I am up to the journey (in terms of patience, more than anything else). This will not happen with two or three strolls in a light drizzle.
I don’t own any scale (nor a calliper), so I need to content myself with calling it thick and heavy. That said, I should look for the...
Thank you! It IS wearable, but it does take an effort. At the moment I am enjoying the challenge, but only time will tell if it´s really suitable as an everyday jacket. Range of motion is very good, so other than bending the arm, nothing hurts too much... :D
Yes, this needs some work.
I feel a bit like Leo in "The Revenant" when he crawled into his horse, only that he never tried to walk around in it... ;).
Now looks at this!
Y2-25th anniversary jacket in heavy (HEAVY!!) Bull hide. Legend has it, it´s 3mm thick, and it sure is hefty to the extent that it´s difficult to bend the arms.
Only got it yesterday, so no break-in attempt so far. Was out and about this a.m. for a few hours, and the jacket...
I’ve had two Board Racers, both size 44. The Tailgunner is cut much more roomy. The BR has very high armholes, with narrow sleeves, so I basically cannot layer at all.
