It definitely appears to be an Angler. Akubra only has them in Loden on their homepage.

The colour looks similar to my Acorn Fawn Stylemaster.

A trip to a big bottle store on the Wakayama side of Osaka (there are no particularly impressive ones in Wakayama). Prices were mixed, some (mainly bourbon) better than Amazon, some (mainly scotch) worse, but the selection was far better than anywhere in Wakayama. Here’s the bourbons with a...
Right on both counts. It does appear to be a little hat compared to the majority of Homburgs we see here. That said, the proportions seem to work to make it exceptionally nice.
Crosby & Co bowler for me, with a rather less substantial leather jacket than yesterday’s Schott. I’m not entirely convinced about Etsuko’s new iPhone’s portrait mode.
Etsuko wore her Panizza back bow we got from Daniele.
A picture of the back bow, for Steve.
Later, I wore my Fed IV to grill...
Yesterday’s hats. Silverbelly Campdraft for me…
And Etsuko in her Hornskov. She rarely wears this one despite my efforts to tell her it looks good on her. She never liked the flat brim, and though we’ve given it a little shape with some steam, she’s still not comfortable under it.
Maybe...
Late post from a couple of days ago. I was hosting a teacher from our sister school in Melbourne for the day, so I chose an Australian hat from outside of my regular work rotation. The Akubra Stylemaster in Acorn Fawn.
If I do move on a couple of my work hats, this one will step up to fill...
They have their moments!
I don’t like my chances of getting to that shop, though we will do some sightseeing in that area. Our first sightseeing day is just driving around and looking out of the bus window. We have a bigger day on the last day, when we get out and really see some of the...
No, and I don’t think they would be that happy with me bringing a huge bunch of screaming kids to the shop to finger and squeeze all their hats, either.
I was enquiring about getting the hat sent to my hotel in Melbourne. Before COVID we were looking into taking the kids to the Blue Mountains...
I have officially run out of space, but am off to Australia with 60 odd screaming kids next month and I just sent the Hattery an email about the Akubra Blue Mountain. Haven’t told Etsuko yet.
A Hornskov day yesterday. First the beaver Broker for some shopping. Etsuko wore one of her Akubra Leisure Times, but we didn’t get a picture.
Later, I went for my Mogul. Etsuko a Maxim Cloche.
Thanks Joe!
Thanks Alan. This came to me from Stefan and became an instant favourite.
There’s a closeup of the brim stitching here.

Looks great. I was never a fan of these hats with the felt on felt and the thick whipstitch, but I’ve seen a few examples of late (yours included) that are making me rethink my position.
Three hats yesterday. First my fuzzy Hückel to take the car in to the shop.
Then an Akubra Snowy River for yard work. Didn’t get a photo.
Finally a Fed IV for today’s walk
I’ve been taking these walks to make sure I’m getting enough exercise while on holiday.
Tomorrow we have our Shigoto...
