I have very much enjoyed my early mornings this last week during the freeze. It’s refreshing to stand out in the quiet chill of 10F degrees (-12C) - this morning under the brim of a Dobbs homburg.

We saw some ice melt yesterday but it is obviously all frozen over again today and still too dangerous to venture out into.

The size tag on this fellow was printed upside down.

Another great Homburg! The landscape around you looks like the same crunchy, icy stuff I've been driving and working in the last 3 days.

Thanks Phil! And you've been out driving in this stuff? I ventured out for a walk last night but quickly came back home. It’s nothing but a mine field out there. But if you gotta go, stay safe brother!

Yesterday’s hats. Silverbelly Campdraft for me…

And Etsuko in her Hornskov. She rarely wears this one despite my efforts to tell her it looks good on her. She never liked the flat brim, and though we’ve given it a little shape with some steam, she’s still not comfortable under it.

Maybe with a bit of stretching, it could find a home on another head in this household

Glad to meet another cold weather lover! You get a lot more of it up in your area than we do around my parts, so I have to bask in it whenever I can.

Wonderful Stetsonian, by the way, and I like those sunnies you’re sporting, too. Are those clip ons?
Thank you kindly, Nathan! There’s a long history to these made-in-Italy clip-ons, apparently. I have a new optician who felt I needed them. They had been in his drawer for about 15 years, and upon hearing that I’d lost 2 pairs of Rx sunnies this year, he gave them to me. I really like the funky look, and I’ll probably get great short wave reception.

Very cool, I like those a lot. Much more interesting than the modern ones I use. Thanks for the closeups, they give me ideas for other options.

Crosby & Co bowler for me, with a rather less substantial leather jacket than yesterday’s Schott. I’m not entirely convinced about Etsuko’s new iPhone’s portrait mode.

Etsuko wore her Panizza back bow we got from Daniele.

A picture of the back bow, for Steve.

Later, I wore my Fed IV to grill a chicken liver pizza.
IMG_0055.jpeg

I’ve never had, or even heard of a chicken liver pizza before, but we had some fresh livers, and Etsuko thought it would be good to try them on a pizza. It turned out really good.
