Stefan, Thanks! It's definitely a lot of felt. :) Beautiful series of hats from you! I was happy to see the STECO "Echt Velour". I actually have a STECO Stiff Felt on the way.
Gary, Thank you! Great looking pair of hats from you and Etsuko yesterday. I always enjoy seeing your posts. I will wear the hat you mentioned sometime in the next few days. :)
Carl Ceschka Wien, Back Bow, possibly 1920s and a recent find. It has a very wide brim so it might be considered an Artist Hat / Sombrero. The Velour is more Soleil like and of a heavier weight yet super pliable.
Plate: Carl Ceschka and sons, La Capelo, Vienna (1935)...
Wayne, Thank you posting this B.B. "Ultima" too. I don't have record of it. It's a super looking Back Bow Velour.
I also have this B.B. "Ultima" that I got from Panos. Not sure why I put later 1930s. It could be based on the paper label. I will have to look into this again...
Wayne, Super! This is a fantastic "NOVA" Velour. I believe the "NOVA" Velour was unique to the French market. Great Velour finish and color. Also great form and wide Band / Bow. It's possible that it's later 1920s early 1930s. The paper label is a Type 8...
Wayne, I don't believe I have encountered a Polish market JHS before. I wonder if it was made or came out of the JHS Skoczów, Poland factory (became PolkaP)? It's a great looking Prima Velour. Really like the color and finish. It has a Type 2 paper label...
Wayne, Really great to see a Japanese market JHS. It's a really fantastic Alpha Velour. Would it be possible to take a sharper photo of the paper label? This is definitely a unique paper label format. Having the descriptions in English is very helpful.
Niky, I have come across some vintage Szaszi hats but nothing 1950s or older that I can remember. I did find a Hermann Szazsi listed at VII., Mariahilferstraße 4 in the Austrian Hat Industry Guide (1926). I will see what else I can find.
Hermann Szaszi is listed here under Wien...
Niky, Nice to meet you! I have probably come across some Wolf-Hüte hats but my focus is on Vintage / Antique Austrian Hat Companies. I will see what I can find on Wolf-Hüte.
Your Wolf-Hüte hat looks like a Velour so possibly Hare although it could be rabbit or a blend of hare and rabbit...
S. & J. Fraenkel Wien "Extra Qualität" possibly later 1930s. This is a fantastic Stone Gray Soleil Velour with high gloss and made for the Belgium market. I found this Velour back in 2015.
Fraenkel Wien, Celluloid Advert Card by Prager & Lojda Berlin S.W., 9 cm x 6 cm, possibly...
