    I got both the buckle and the brass keeper from Smoky Sumi store in Japan. Belt hide is British Bridle, the best hide for a belt by a country mile.

    You essentially have no agency with big brands. Your only option is not to buy their fake grain or fake "teacore". For two grand you can go custom and specify your hide and your panels. Plenty of good makers out there who will make a mind-blowing piece for two grand.

    Being a chemist, and having worked for Sun Chemical in NJ many years ago, I did some digging. It looks like this is the same, German Impregnol(e). The technology owners (Chemisch Fabrik Pfersee) did a joint venture and brought the brand to the US in 1929, and sold it to Sun Chemical in 1946...
