JW, I make continual notes in my job, and have had my pages get wet on occasion and almost all will smudge unless you go with something like Noodler's bulletproof inks. Also, the newer Moleskine journals are not very friendly to most FP inks. The Gold Line journals from Staples work well.- DeaconKC

Anybody here used Cabela's hats?
Z, thanks for the links. I work a high risk unit and often make apprehensions right on the spot. Sometimes folks and their families are not very happy. Makes for a long day. -

Thanks folks, I know the fur is a far better hat, but this job will often see the hat ruined/wrecked before wearing out. I always spray them with Scotch Guard to keep it rain resistant, how will that affect a fur felt hat? -

Shave of the Day
Traveling is proof of the wisdom that good prep is the most important part of the shave. Wound up using some C&E Nomad Shave Cream, an Omega Boar Brush and C O Bigelow AS, but was using a disposable Mach 3. Still got an excellent shave,just proves how important the basics are.- DeaconKC

A big +1 on the Ruger Mini series. The AKs can be excellent rifles if a good builder made them. Good luck finding a decent Garand now for under 700 on the street, if you do, grab it. The leather "pancake" style can be pulled very flat against your waist and so is much easier to drape a loose shirt or sport coat over it to make it disappear. Why do you wear a fedora or cap?
I like wearing hats, always have. Since I have started wearing glasses, I prefer a brimmed hat to keep rain off the glasses. Ball caps are for the ballpark to me.
