    Ivory VS

    :arated: on that.

Do you own more Beaver Felt or Fur Felt hats?

You should add "Blend thereof" and "I'm not sure what this thing's made of, but it sure feels nice!" The most popular answer by far would probably be "Blend thereof," and of course, that's not even taking into account nutria, hare, etc., and various blends thereof.

    Did I get ripped off?

Some Stetsons just have size designations of M, L, XL, etc. I've even seen some real low end Stetsons that came in S/M and L/XL.

    Did I get ripped off?

Actually, I think it's legit, unless Village Hat Shop is selling counterfeit Stetsons too. http://www.villagehatshop.com/stetson_retro_fedora.html See the note about "Made in Mexico"? I noticed that in your photo. OK, so VHS has it cheaper, but when you factor in shipping and the fact...

    Did I get ripped off?

Exactly, it's not at all a bad looking hat for the money. If it is fake, that's actually kind of cooler than if it was a real Stetson, in a weird way. Wear it with pride.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Thanks, I did find that as well. I also found an obituary, but I'm not sure if it was the same Fred Meine. I think the article above might have been the son, not sure. P.S. I hate the crease that it has. If it turns out to be acceptable size-wise, I'll probably do a teardrop crease and...

    The Other Open Roads.....

Add Park Crest "Western Silver Belly" to the list. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380227408547

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380227408547 Thanks to Lefty for the tip on this one. Now let's just hope that the seller can't measure worth a damn (always a safe bet) and that the sumbitch actually fits. It says 40's, but I kind of doubt it. The model number and style...

    Post New Hats Here!

I know where you bought that one from, Garrett, American Vintage. Good deal for $40.

To Feather or Not to Feather?

A hat is like Dumbo. It doesn't really need a feather.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Really nice looking Sunbody there. I was thinking about getting one of those, now I'm really thinking about getting one of those. What model is that?

    Biltmore still around?

They are. I bought one from them just a few months ago. Very nice hat and a great value.

    Is it just me....

I'd agree with you there, e.
  15. Mr E Train

    Is it just me....

It doesn't look that bad to me, but when I look at it I don't see something that I would wear for style, but something that would keep the sun off when working out in the yard and offer some cooling ventilation. I wouldn't spend 90 bucks for something like that, though.
  16. Mr E Train

Which ribbon treatment do you like better on this hat?

I usually prefer the wider ribbon, but on that hat I like the thin one. Perhaps it's because I know that that's the original. Both look great, though.

    Is it just me....

It's not that bad, but it's not that good, either. That looks like a good hat for mowing the lawn in.

    Poll: Fedoras or Homburgs?

Last time I checked, it wasn't a competition. It's called the Fedora Lounge, not the Homburg Lounge, so what do you expect? You should be happy; being a Homburg wearer makes you unique.

    I stand corrected. ;)

    Lamentations of the Large-headed!

Oh well, it's gone. Someone already snagged it. :whistling And Lefty, you're right about ignoring the measurements. We all know that by and large, eBay sellers can't measure worth squat, particularly when it comes to circumference. I have a tough time even getting them to...
