:arated:
I was thinking the same thing. We're going to be seeing a lot of hats that we've already seen before, unless this thread is specifically for new vintage hats only. And in that case I can't help but think that it would take away some of the thunder of the regular "Post New Hats Here"...
Park Crest silver belly
Not sure about this one. The seller on eBay thought it was 40's, someone here guessed mid-50's, and I personally have no idea. Any guesses as to the vintage?
Panama from David Morgan
Yay, I finally get to post here! Not bad for $65. I would bet good money that it's made by Capas, although it's not labeled as such. It's a very comfortable, nice looking hat. I expect it'll get a lot of use this summer.
The brim was troublesome at first, it kept...
Panama from David Morgan
Nothing really impressive, just a $65 Panama hat from David Morgan. I got a XXL and it almost feels too big, but that's probably because I'm used to having to wear hats a little snug out of sheer necessity.
David Morgan Panama Hat
I received my new Panama from David Morgan, what I'm assuming is a brisa weave Cuenca. I don't care, really, I'm more about ventilation, not weave count per square inch. ;) It's a nice looking hat, very light and comfortable. Cloth sweatband. At first the brim did...
After several hours on the hat jack, the hat is noticeably more comfortable. Not there yet, but getting there. A couple of days of incremental stretching ought to do it.
I took it off the stretcher to test the fit, and I didn't think the bash was quite right, so I rebashed it to suit me...
Woody, thanks for the kind words! I do have other fedoras, though, so it's not like this is my first.;) I think it'll look better on me when it's not perched quite so high up on my head.
Park Crest silver belly "Western"
Nice hat with some moth nibbles. Marked 7 3/4, but it seems to have shrunk because it's too small at 22 3/4". It's on the stretcher now, so I'll see how it fits after that.
Well, I got the Park Crest silver belly "Western" today. I didn't like the half-assed crease, so I gave it a half-assed diamond bash and a front pinch, using no steam, and snapped the brim down because I have no illusions of being a cowboy. Not bad for about 3 minutes work.
It was...
Pretty good deal on a great big OR-style Resistol. I put in a couple of bids but decided to let it go.

I liked the look of that Stetson Retro, but the largest size they come in is XL, so I looked for something similar that came in a 7 3/4 or XXL and found this:

Looks like a pretty decent hat, I like the shape of it a lot, and David...
