Today I'm wearing the early 70's pioneer wear suede trucker that just arrived in the mail.
Aside from being a tad longer in the sleeves than I'd prefer in a jacket without adjustable cuffs, I am quite happy with the fit.
Based on first impressions the quality seems pretty good , I like the length that will definitely stay tucked in, and the more roomy fit is definitely comfortable.
I don't know who might have made it, but it doesn't look like woolrich or Johnson and definitely not filson.
I don't know about the quilted lining, but based on the pattern and overall style I'm thinking 70's Bemidji woolen mills.
Todays weather is not very picture friendly, but I'm wearing the new pioneer wear vest and my Taylor's Chicago PD.
I really just wanted to see how the vest wore under my leather jacket ( my wool vests are all a roomier fit ), and it does very well.
Recently I decided I wanted to start upgrading to some better flannel shirts, I mostly wanted something that was made to tuck in and didn't want to spend a fortune.
Being a brand I had heard of I decided to browse their site and luckily they were having a black Friday sale.
I ordered this...
I just scored this awesome pioneer wear suede jacket on ebay.
Marc mndt posted his and I instantly fell in love, I saw it and my first thought was Damn that's a gorgeous jacket !
Right away I went on Ebay and found one, after a little enabling from the forum I made an offer that was accepted...
It's such a cool jacket I decided to throw in an offer and see what happens.
If I end up getting it I can find a way to get used to the lack of hand pockets.
I just saw that one and almost jumped the gun with an offer , but realized there's no hand pockets and had to stop myself. ( I'm a 36, but based on the measurements I could do this 38 )
It's such a badass looking jacket that I'd love to have, but I know from trying to wear the OG-108 field shirt...
I'm so glad I took the $16+ shipping gamble on it.
Right away when I unboxed it I could just tell it was high quality, the thickness and the very nice lining instantly gave that impression.
There's something about the snaps too, I don't know why but they just seem very high quality when they...
Got a delivery in the mail today that I'm trying out.
Pioneer wear suede/ rough out vest ( I believe 70's ), and a 70's penny's big mac wool jacket.
I really love the vest, the look the cut and the size are great.
The big mac was a great deal as was the vest ( the vest even more so ) but...
It works for him because he's just kind of become known for rocking the nudie suit and classic southwestern western wear look really well, but the look also goes along with the music.
Me I get by with my brass BTS buckle that I wear every day, and wearing a bolo tie on Christmas but I'm also...
A good wool vest is great, but it doesn't snow where I live and I've also got a heenleyand flannel shirt on. My jacket also has a zip out thinsulate lining too.
If a vest doesn't seem like the way to go, maybe a thick wool sweater.
The USMC issue " commando " sweater is a great affordable...
