What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

That looks great! I like the snap. You know, I think you could give it a little more upturn in the back. Right from the middle of the bow where the brim sort of levels off, turn the back up a little so that it keeps a smoother line, if you know what I mean. That would look sharp. But I like...

Mikey P, I forgot that Falkoff's has the Dobbs Soul for $55, but they only have grey. I would have ordered it from them, but I needed 2XL and they were sold out of those.

What's to comprehend? It's 2 5/8 and then add another 1/16 to that. Guy must have failed shop class.

Yep, Dad's Back Order Hats, same ol' story. Hat Guys has it on their site, just not in the grey color. http://hatguys.com/onlineStore.cfm?storeAction=_view&prodID=299&srow=na I think Hats-Plus sells them, they just don't say Pinzano in the description, this one and this one that is a slightly...

The Dobbs or the Pinzano? The Dobbs I ordered from The Hat Company in Las Vegas (http://www.thehatco.com) just a couple days ago, and it hasn't had time to come in yet. I didn't know anything about that company, but it looks like they're one of those places like the Village Hat Shop or...

    The modern cowboy hat

That's great, Douglas. I love Toby Huss, but I had never seen those promos before. Of course, I never watched MTV that much, at least not in the 90's and later.

Hi, Noah, and welcome to the Lounge! Yes, I have a question, can you make skyvue's hat a production model?

I don't think so because Sennett didn't start making movies until around 1912, and this is a newspaper ad from 1912 for sennit straw hats.

I think most of us know what we're getting when we buy a "Milan straw" hat for under $100. This is my $55 Pinzano. I'm not sure what it's made of, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's synthetic. But it looks nice, it's comfortable, water resistant, and my head somehow stays as cool in it in...

    Dr. Who?

You're not the only one. He's pretty much universally reviled, isn't he? I always hated him, for both the ridiculous clown suit and the fact that he made the Doctor a pompous jerk.

    Dr. Who?

I prefer Peter Davison's Optimo Montecristi. Fine Doctor, great hat.

Now there's a hat that screams "class."

    The modern cowboy hat

As with the fashion, so goes the music. Cookie-cutter, bland, everybody looking and sounding the same. Can you tell I don't like modern country music? The old guys wore their hats (and sounded) so much better (imho).

    Stetson Mercer

It has a brim? Just kidding. It looks like it's got snap. The straw Mercers are sold as snap brims, so I imagine the felt ones are too.

    Boater faction!

...and cue anti-Baron Hats comments. But I agree, as far as modern boaters go, the weave of the Baron Hats boater resembles that one most closely. Mayserwegener's kicks its you-know-what if you ask me, though. http://www.baronhats.com/straw_boater_Italiano.htm
