Recently picked this up on eBay. It's snazzy, but it just doesn't work for me. it was sold to me as straw, but I'm actually unsure what it's made of...it's either straw or some kind of synthetic.
Crown height: 4"
Brim width: 2"
Like new condition - not the slightest thing...
I was about to snap this up...then I thought, y'know...I've bought so many darn hats lately, and I really don't know when or where I would ever wear a homburg. So it seemed like the best thing to leave it to some lounger with the distinct intent to use it and the gravitas to pull it off...
So get yourselfa tape measure and get a rough idea of size - this information will fuel your motivation to unwisely purcahse hats ad nauseum from eBay and place intense stress on many of your personal and professional relationships. But you will not care.
Welcome. ;)
Here are the PDFs of the magazine cover and the story itself -

Yes, he always unbuttoned the collars on his shirts and/or turned them up to hie his neck- there are many pictures of this.
Regarding connery's bodybuilding...if memory serves, I believe he placed third in the tall division.
Also, I would think that the hat habits of each man should count...
So, would it be an even greater understatement to say that this was a good price?

Maybe it's from a later decade. It's certainly not as nice...with the stains and all.
Guilty as charged, sir. Rest easy - I will love it dearly. For now, it will be the only grey dress hat I have...and it's certainly the most I've ever dropped on a hat!
