Vintage Herbert Johnson Homburg

7 1/8

Black

This Homburg was cleaned and blocked by Graham @ Optimo in Chicago. He mentioned this was one of the finest vintage felts he had seen and that the hat itself was made in 1941. If you notice the liner mentions hatter to H.M. the KING which would line up with Graham's 1941 manufacture date - prior to the Elizabeth ii coronation over a decade later when the liners changed to H.M. the Queen.

Not a stiff Homburg - buttery soft and very easy to shape. Churchill would've been proud to sport this one!

Graham replaced the sweatband and added my initials G.W. (unpopular initials to have during the past 8 years!) Graham also left the original ribbon with the period accurate tattered edge on the back of the ribbon.

$50 shipped within USA

I was about to snap this up...then I thought, y'know...I've bought so many darn hats lately, and I really don't know when or where I would ever wear a homburg. So it seemed like the best thing to leave it to some lounger with the distinct intent to use it and the gravitas to pull it off.

Beautiful hat. I restrain myself.
