My in-laws and brother-in-law visited several weeks ago, and when we were out at a restaurant, my brother-in-law kept taking my hat (a Dobbs Soul, which I had taken off because I don't wear my hat at table) and putting it on. I always snap the brim down when I put it on, but he's not a hat...
I ordered a Bluegrass Green Campdraft from EA not long after I ordered my Silverbelly one. Unfortunately, they had them in stock in every size except mine. Mine should be coming in around Christmastime.
"I drive an exact copy of Starsky and Hutch's car, but I'm going to make fun of you and say you're just trying to be Don Draper if you wear a fedora. Hypocrisy...moi??"
I didn't think so either, but not too long ago someone posted some scans from an old magazine (I think it was Hat Life) that had a feature on boys' hats, and pictured boys wearing pork pies and fedoras. I tried searching for it but couldn't find it.
I'm thinking you could get a fairly low-crowned fedora with a bound brim of around 2 1/2" and pop it out to open crown and curl the brim. An Akubra Stylemaster might work. In fact, you might be able to get Everything Australian or Hatsdirect to special order a Stylemaster that's open crown.
Nice looking hat! I like the shape, and the color. That brim's more than 2 inches though. That looks like at least 2 3/8" or 2 1/2". All the better, because I don't think 2 inches would look nearly as good.
