It was made for the Outback Trading Company. I'm not sure what the name of the color is. The brim was a bit misshapen from shipping but I haven't had a chance to work with it because I have in-laws visiting.

I have a 7 3/4 Squatter coming from bolthead, and I'm looking forward to it. It would have been useful today with the sudden heavy downpour that hit late in the afternoon.

I could be wrong (and I probably am), but that doesn't look like a Panama to me. It could just be the photo, but to me it looks more like a hat made from woven wheat straw or something like that. It is neat looking and distinctive, regardless.
Are you a long oval size? That could make the difference. From most accounts that I read, most people get their true size and find that it's a little large, and then it shrinks down to a perfect fit. I know they don't block them long oval, so maybe with a long oval Hats Direct recommends...
I know what you're talking about, but I'm not sure what the proper term for it is other than "mesh liner." It's very common on boaters with Bon Ton Ivy or that type of floating sweatbands, like this:
