This 1977 Sew Sew m65 that my dad handed down to me was my favorite jacket when I was a kid, I loved it even more once I grew into it too.
It was my primary go-to mid weight jacket from age 12 all the way through my high school years, and it still fits me too.
If I had to do it all over again...
Thanks for the suggestions,I'll look into them.
The OD green panel is non negotiable, they must be a brown leather, and American made is an absolute must.
The moc toe is really what I'm after here, but I could go for a plain toe if the boots really speak to me and check all the other boxes.
About a year and a half ago I discovered my dream boots, the W.C Russell plantation series birdshooters.
As an everyday general purpose boot they'd be perfect and they just look so damm cool.
They were more than I'd really want to spend on a pair of boots but I figured I'd eventually make it...
Today we got what is likely our last break from the heat, it went from high 80's-mid 90's down to the mid 60's today.
It'll be up into the high 70's by 5:00 so I won't get to wear my favorite jacket all day but at least I get to wear it some.
Probably no jackets again for me till mid September, because it's already getting into the 90's.
Aside from maybe a couple hours on an occasional cool morning here and there ,because it's been in the 90's all week.
California likes to start summer early and end it late.
If I do need a jacket...
I am a bit more committed than a lot of people, because I missed out on the days when you didn't have to look for the domestically made products.
I've also gotten good at finding and keeping track of the American made products.
Back on topic, is there any make I should be looking out for (...
When there were plenty of these jobs here they had no trouble finding people willing to do them.
Once the number of jobs decreased so did the number of people who knew how or were willing to do them, now it's a circle.
The jobs aren't coming back if theres nobody to do them and nobody to do them...
But I still know that a fellow American should have been paid to make it, and even worse is that far less Americans are being paid to make things here than there were when that jacket was made because of products that like this jacket weren't made here.
I would always know that it played a role...
That's what I did.
He also offered me a decent discount of $90 shipped on a cooper G1 he has listed, but I had to pass.
He seems like a good guy , but the description on the Cooper G1 says " definitely 70's or earlier " , yet it seems to be kind of the same situation as this Avirex A2...
Here's an interesting woolrich.

I don't know anything about it, or if it's even a mens piece.
The cut is interesting, I like the pattern, and the color.
Zip front mandarin collar, no pockets.
a sweater I guess?
