I wanted the 6206 for work because I'm required black footwear, but they don't offer them in my size so I went with the 6201 which are the same boots but with the white sole white collar and plane brass hardware.
MWB is great, their prices aren't always the cheapest but the freebies they're...
This would definitely be a great lightweight everyday beater jacket if they were readily available for cheap on the surplus market today.
For me I used a 70's USN utility jacket my uncle gave me as a beater, that's what I wear in the fall at work then switch to an m65 from my dad in the winter.
I just go with whatever jacket I feel like wearing that's appropriate for the days weather and what I plan on doing, but I will switch to a beater when I'm out in the workshop or doing yard work...etc.
I finally bit the bullet on a pair of Jim Green Vellie " Chukka " boots in Khaki rough out.
Everything I hear about the company made me want to show them a little support, but I was a little hesitant because I've been worried about fit.
I mostly wanted them as a summer beater and workshop...
I'm starting lean this way myself.
I have been very hesitant anyways , I didn't want to do anything that would alter the look of the jacket and don't think anything but snaps would look right and they'd absolutely have to be exact matches to the originals.
I really like the jacket, it's very...
I can put a snap in myself of course , but where would I put it if the cuff has no closure or anything?
Are you suggesting I just kind of fold the cuff like this and attach a snap ?
Because it certainly has nothing like this going on.
I just got a message back from Steve at Bedo's, and he said this wasn't something he was willing to work on at this time.
I assume he's just too busy with shoes right now, but I didn't ask or push.
I don't know who else I could trust to do this if I have it done.
Btw that adjustment I posted...
I tried having a look online for some vintage suede truckers to get an idea, but the word " vintage " mostly just turns up cheap modern crap.
It seems however from what I could find that the simple slit cuff with tab and snap button is the most common for a suede trucker.
I'm not opposed to that...
I think it's almost perfect ,and I can live with it as is if I have to because I am honestly a bit hesitant to do anything to it, but have sent an email to Steve at Bedo's to see what he thinks and how much it might cost...etc.
I'm not exactly committed to having anything done to it yet, but...
overall I like the roomy sleeves for mobility and layering purposes, it feels perfect in just about every way except for the wide open cuffs.
plus I don't want to deal with measurements...etc and end up feeling like I made a mistake.
I'd also like to keep to as minor of a modification as...
It's no secret that I really love this pioneer wear jacket and it has become one of my absolute favorites just because I think it's so cool.
With that being said I know the sleeves are a little long, and it has been suggested that cuff adjustment / closure could be a good solution for this and...
I'd rather have an 8" but these were what I could get in my size that are black as per job requirements, however I have liked them more than I imagined and the shorter height hasn't been the issue I expected it to be.
Not really but I did quite like the way these looked when new back in late November, and as us with new work boots I found myself being a bit careful with them the 1st few days.
Here we are about 9-1/2 months later, I don't baby them but do take care of them the best I can and clean &...
No problem.
These are definitely a decent quality jacket, a step above the Wrangler jackets from the 80's that I have.
The denim is very noticeably superior.
They may have sold them, but BIg Smith was an actual workwear manufacturer not just a house brand.
You're probably thinking of Big Mac from JC Penney's.
I really like this blanket lined Big Smith, but it's a little big on me and I'm hoping I can find another that fits me better.
I don't know how old it is, I'm guessing 90's ?
It's in really good condition and I think I payed $50 for it, so maybe I can find another better fitting example for...
