Hello Everyone,
I thought I will write a small leather review post on my first purchase of a vintage jacket.
Horween CXL Steerhide (3oz.) in Havana Brown, jacket weigh around 7lb.
Now, to give you a frame of reference, I never owned any leather jacket other than usual lambskin jacket, so...
Rob from Eastman told me, they can do long version but it's worth checking it again. The got the stock size and I love the fit. Yes it's bit snug, but I find it perfect tbh.
@jonesy86 , I'm no expert in this subject but if it helps you, Terry Mitchell (lounger) has a great Youtube channel with some great looking goat skin jacket. Good luck.
Ahh, I too was taken away by that leather, but no-one had any jacket of that hide to guide how that going to develop over time. If you go to their Instagram page, there's one pic of Steve (MD) wearing a jacket made of that hide and same color if that helps. Good luck.
Thanks @Brettafett , I have seen many of your post on A2, especially the RW 1401p. That thing is beauty.
I have nothing to compare against, other jackets I own are buttery smooth lambskin and super heavy steer hide, so this HH was very welcomed.
I was lucky too, they seems to have stock already in my size so got mine within few days. Perfect weather here in Ireland for jackets. Enjoy yours too.
I was a bit torn between Eastman and BK. BK's liberty HH finish wear made be curious. Star Sportswear was my 2nd choice, but I would definitely would've needed size 40 on that. This is Eastman's in house A2 called Slender model in seal brown. The new leather doesn't really bother me much because...
I am happy with the fit too. But its very light jacket, compared to my other steer hide jacket. The zipper (crown) worries me a lil though. Do they hold up fine over time?
