Mine got to production this week, so shouldn't take much longer. Can't wait to see that in all it's glory. :)
Enjoy your new jacket my friend and thanks for that shinki order..;)
That's great. I ordered mine week and a half back on shank chocolate too. Post some pics when you get a chance. I was split between Italian steer hide and shinki, but finally decided because it feels. Btw, how long did it take to make the jacket?
I am very close to ordering the Detroit from SB in size 38. Fixed on Shinki HH brown.
I requested the cuff size , and Debs said it's 10" flat width. I'm assuming it's same as taking shirt's cuff button open and laid flat?
Does anyone of you had to tailor their sleeve width with SB (or any other company), or is it something they can do at all considering they use predefined patterns.
So i have been playing with those leather samples last two days and so far i liked Shinki and Italian veg Steer, however after trying to destroy both, only Italian veg shows some character, but Shinki looks as it was before. Which tells me it's going to be long time before Shinki shows anything...
Great posts Carlos. Thos jackets fits are perfect. I too have 33" waist and I won a jacket with 20" bottom fit perfect and comfortable to me. I agree Shinki feels great but bit too shiny, how long did it take yours to get that shine reduced?
Blattwerk felt softest and lightest from the bunch. It just the color is lil tan-ish for my taste, but i bet it would fell most comfortable. Shinki and italian veg horse has similar feel but Shinki's top coat is shinier..Do you think the color fades over time easily?
Here are the samples for Blattwerk Torf, Blattwerk Dark Brow(though it looks black) and Shinki chocolate brown
I don't know if u can tell, but it's very soft leather and already looks vintage, however the brown color looks very dull in real life.
Shinki as it looks gorgeous.
Is the weight...
I got bunch of mid weight leather swatches from SB today in Brown and obviously no CXL Steer as I didn't know 1.4mm isn't mid weight.
But, I am surprised by the Blattwerk HH, they are soft as sheepskin. Has anyone got one? I don't know how they age. So I am to ask between Shinki...
yes, cxl steer hide. From what I gathered, HH sounds like very stiff and uncomfortable to start with. I have heard lot about Shinki HH and SB offer lighter (1.2mm) HH than Horween Steer(1.4mm), but they are a bit pricey.
Ahh I see. Then it seems to be good fit.
I have little bit gut going on good to have some extra room.
For leather I am still leaning towards horween cxl brown, just because I have read they age very well. My ideal jacket is this new jacket 20yr down the line. Is it too much of a fantasy? :D:)
So Debs was kind enough to came back to me which her suggestion and she suggested to go with size 38 and it has the pit to pit 21" which in my best fitting jacket is 20.5". Back and arm length were little off but she said it can be altered.
She also gave this measurement :
Waist at bottom hem...
